Its way to early to send Habby packing. The season isn't even a month old. Habby is a notorious slow starter, by the time the break rolls around he will be as good as he is gonna get, only then to you throw his ass outta town....unless the guys personal problems have come back, then get rid of his ass asap.

I will say this; the team seems to be some legs once Crawford came in, maybe Habby just isn't a match for this team, who knows.

Call up Raanta? Like.....really?(scratches head)

CHAMPS!!!

Pretty much this.

emery was one of those fluke type players. we got lucky. our goaltending depth is putrid. they were a product of just an amazing team in front of them. did crawford have some big saves in the playoffs? yes. we are still weak and if any of them were on avg teams they would be.,,well ...just avg goalies as they would be exploited.

Well, they're not, so,

Khabi actually had a .923 save percentage with a defensively abysmal Edmonton team last season. Not too shabby, really.

Talking this year, likely facing more shots with worse defense.

He has a pretty fucking dumb parody account too, I'd love to see that go away.

With back to back games this weekend, I would expect that we see which way the Blackhawks are leaning with Khabi. My guess is that Khabi plays this weekend.

In terms of looking at 12 games and dismissing the stats, there are a couple things that don't make sense with that. First, we are looking at 3 games here and most people are overreacting. Second, Khabi isn't going to be starting that many more games than 12 (my guess is 15-20 if all goes well) so even though it is a small sample size, it doesn't mean we throw out the stats necessarily.

Hopefully the Blackhawks team gets behind Khabi and plays a solid defensive game to get him going again.

Exactly. We just need a goalie who can take the crease 15-20 times in the regular season and not blow chunks. Unfortunately for Khabi, he's blown chunks twice, though not every goal he allowed was his fault, a lion's share of the blame falls on him.

So, a thread calling for his departure after THREE games would appear to be a bit premature, wouldn't it?

You're saying the Hawks defense is worse than the Oilers' defense? Because I'd like to express my vehement disagreement with that assertion, if that's the case.

Our goalie depth has sucked for about 3-4 years now. Time to start looking for something to add in

They did... It was called signing Anti Raanta. The depth is a lot stronger than 3 years ago when it was Alec Richards? or whoever else. The depth is still just unknown answer still very young guys.

On second thought, I really don't agree with this.

The Hawks acquired a goalie from Finland, he played well enough to help the Hawks win a Cup, and then the Hawks had to let him go due to cap problems. So what did they do? They reached down to their farm system and pulled up another goalie who, after some growing pains, also played well enough to win a Cup with the Hawks.

You had Carter Hutton playing with the Hogs, then the Hawks decided to sign him up, and now he's the backup in Nashville. Antti Raata is off to a pretty good start in Rockford this season, with Mac Carruth and Kent Simpson still working their way up the ranks. Their goalie depth isn't all that bad, really.

Depends.

If he is back doing shit he shouldn't be doing, then yes. He needs to be gone faster then you can say Kim Johnsson. That being said, its early. Habby gets the benefit of the doubt and can start a bit slower considering he has a history of being a goalie who can put a team on his back for weeks. Might I remind everybody here that when the Hawks were a fantastic flop, this guy was playing out of his mind to keep them in games. He has earned that contract and his reputation for what hes done in the past, with last year being a pretty damn good year on a completely shitty team in the Oilers. He just needs to get into the system, he didn't have any semblance of a system last year and now that theres structure he needs to find a common ground and re-learn he doesn't have to over play to protect himself.

Give him a couple months, this teams gonna be fine in the mean time.

If Crawf were to suffer a serious injury, they'd be in deep shit with Khabby, Raanta...etc.

The goaltending depth after Crawf still sucks.

When he isn't in there, good chance 3+ goals are going to be scored by the opposition.
