You're saying the Hawks defense is worse than the Oilers' defense? Because I'd like to express my vehement disagreement with that assertion, if that's the case.

Why would I say that he would be even worse on another team likely facing even more shots as a way of calling the Oilers superior to us?

See his performance this year with out defense, now put him and his current level of play with an average team's defense and it is even worse...

I'm just confused by the way you worded all of this. I think you're saying that he'd be even worse if he was playing in front of a team with a worse defense ... right?

If Crawf were to suffer a serious injury, they'd be in deep shit with Khabby, Raanta...etc.

The goaltending depth after Crawf still sucks.

When he isn't in there, good chance 3+ goals are going to be scored by the opposition.

There are about 20 NHL teams that would be in deep shit if their starting goalie when down with an injury. Having two goalies playing as well as they were like the Hawks had last year is a very small exception, not the rule. This is just another one of your cynically-fueled hypothetical situations that you could apply to the majority of the league.

Khabi could definitely be better, no doubt. But as Martini pointed out, it's still pretty damn early in the season.

Ya know what the craziest part about all of this talk is? The Hawks have taken 5 of the 6 possible points in the games played by Khabi.

I understand Bowman's thinking on this, I really do. It would be nice to have the same thing going in goal as last year but he just chose the wrong guy IMOP. Some of the goals he's giving up makes me actually question his eyesight to say nothing of his decision making. But it is early as many have said but Q already has a short lease on him, so for Khabby it might not be as early as we think.

Oh, and BTW...http://http://blackhawks.nhl.com/club/blogpost.htm?id=22002

I'm not saying, I'm just saying...

So, a thread calling for his departure after THREE games would appear to be a bit premature, wouldn't it?

2 different issues. its not about his specific stats THIS year, its about what we actually see in bulin in his play and if for some reason crawford gets hurt...well...we would be in a lot of trouble. Im sure this is why detail orientated fans like myself and icehog have issues with goalie depth.

If the Hawks don't trust Khabby, go out & find a backup you can trust.

Don't wanna see 70+ games like Kipper did.

Seen reports that Raanta was injured last weekend, haven't been able to find out the severity, though.

If they do, as I mentioned in another thread....I think he's gone. I believe this game was handpicked for him by Q....he gets every opportunity to prove he can still play. A road game vs a team that is really struggling, its the ideal matchup for a goalie that's struggling just as much. He needs to have a decent game, he can't have another embarrassing outing here or he's history.

Well they definitely have. 2-0 Preds with about 10 to go in the 1st. Just as they were talking about how bad the Preds offensively have been...
