That was insane, but we that game fades quick since it was the 1st round and we lost.

Kane's hat trick in 09 to go to the first WCF in almost 20 years, second hat trick this year to go to the Cup, the obvious greatest ever Hawks goal to win the Stanley Cup in 2010. Just those 3 instances are enough to solidify anyone as one of the best ever, but he has more on top of that.

Dont get me wrong Kane has more clutch moments but jesus that goal by Toews would have been legendary if Campoli didn't **** it all up. **** Campoli

I'd have a hard time choosing. They each bring tangibles the other doesn't have.

Which is why when paired together they are probably the leagues worst tandem to match up against. As LA and eventually Boston found out.

I'd take Toews, Toews is the guy you build a team around. Kane is just part of that team. That isn't a knock on Kane he is fucking awesome but Toews is the more essential piece.

I honestly think it is a toss up. At this point with 2 cups, Calder trophy, go to Team USA, Conn Smythe and the way he plays in huge situations Kane could be a guy you build a team around very easily.

If he plopped in say Calgary, it would not take much to make that team very good very quick. The only reason I'd choose Toews is the factors that he plays 2 ways better than anyone in the league. Kane will be a 100 point guy some point here, and Toews will be a 40 goal guy soon, a great situation we have here.

I said it earlier this year, Kane should be give the "A" fairly soon here to switch it up with Sharp or Keith.

Honestly I think seabs deserves the A first. Hell before Toews I figured Seabs was our next Captain.

Yea no way does anyone get an "A" before Seabrook. His leadership is not even questionable where EVERY one in that locker room is concerned.

Seabrook would have been the Captain if not for Toews. I think you are dead on.

Yea between the 4 of Keith, Sharp Seabs and Kane it is more of a formality. All of them are vocal and back it up more than enough.

Sharp would have been legendary if he shot the puck an inch to the left.

I don't think Keith is very vocal. He leads by example.

There's a reason when any of the current C or A's are out Seabrook gets the A.

Keith seems vocal not in the way of calming down or pumping people up. Just hearing some of what Kane does in the locker room and then seeing what he does on the ice makes him just as worthy. Maybe they could swap Keith and Sharp for Kane and Seabrook, Q loves a good change up.

Can't wait. Now if Sharp is retained and keeps producing and we grab another cup......now we have possibly 6 guys who deserve to have the numbers never worn again.

Right now Keith, Kane, Toews are locks in my view. Hossa will depend on the rest of his time here, but if Sharp and Seabrook are able to stick around and play here for 4-5 more years, I hope their careers, they are going up.

Let's not get carried away. Keith and Seabrook do not go up before Wilson IMO

Sharp and Hossa do not go up before Larmer (or at all)

It comes down to this...

This argument no one can win... both players are phenomenal and franchise players for different reasons.

Like Debbie Downer Pez said... luckily we don't have to choose.

It's Crosby and Malkin only successful.

Take a look at this year's playoff stats of Toews and Kane. There is a huge difference. I know that they have different, but equally important, roles but for one forward to crush another in the stats column makes it obvious why Pat won the Conn Smythe this time. Not to mention a hat trick in one game and nearly a second one in the Finals.

Kane - 23GP - 9G - 10A - 19P - +7 - 2GWG - 1OTG - 20:55TOI

Toews - 23GP - 3G - 11A - 14P - +9 - 0GWG - 0OTG - 21:33TOI

Kane had points in 13 of the 23 playoff games. Good stats but not sure it's that "obvious" he should have won.

Crawford has an exceptional playoff run and a case could have easily been made for him to win.

If you look at their stats in the playoffs and compare 2013 to 2010, you can really argue the whole "shadow of their former self" thing. Which is weird since they are only 24ish.

IMO, no way either Toews or Kane deserved the Conn Smythe this time around. Not even a PPG is not MVP quality from a top scorer.

There are several players that could be given arguments in winning it.

Keith very well could have. He shut down every player he went up against/was lights out all playoffs.

He wouldn't be a ppg in the playoffs....but he was incredible. Hands down, best defenceman in the entire playoffs.

The difference is, you don't expect a PPG from a defenseman.

The only forward I think that deserved it was Bickell. Keith, Hjalmarsson, and Oduya were all fantastic, but I agree if you were to pick one it would be Keith.

But Conn Smythe? Crawford had the most importance to his team. Without him, I don't think they win the Cup. Sorry Emery fans.
