Q, I don't think I'm ever going to be a fan of him. Some of his coaching decisions just piss me off. Yes he has brought us two cups I am not disputing that just I hate some of his decisions. Hopefully he decides to fix the PP because if we had even an average PP jesus christ we would have been uber scary.

Stan, over time my hatred for Stan has disappeared. I was and still am a big Tallon fan and his first two years as GM I fucking hated Stan he couldn't do shit right but now he's actually a pretty good GM thus far, have to give it some time to see more of his draft picks and see if they pan out or not.

For me the years in between this cup and the last the hawks were boring, they never seemed to have the intensity, maybe due to cup hangover, maybe due to the roster they had but those seasons were just uninteresting. 2010 probably spoiled me because that team was just incredible, always exciting, never out of a game. It was must see TV. This year they brought that back and were fun as hell to watch. Before you go calling me a bandwagon fan winning isn't everything for me, one of my favorite games was I believe (I could be wrong on the timeframe) was a 2011 game against the Sharks when the hawks decided to play with some fire and we lost 1-0 in OT. It was one of the more entertaining regular season games I've seen, the goalies were both hot as hell, both teams were throwing the kitchen sink at these goalies, it was fast paced, just a great game.

Yea there is no denying Q of anything right now. He was being out coached by Babcock, adjusted and out coached him. Similar to what he did with Julien.

There's just nothing you can say bad at this point.

Stan as well. He retooled this team after losing half a Roster and in two years, with the core he had, won another Cup and is on the verge of possibly a dynasty of some sort with 80% of this team returning, including their CORE players.

Crawford should have one the Con Smythe and even Kane eluded to that several times. No surprise the writers shunned him they have done it all year and through out the playoffs.

**** them he won the Stanley Cup.

Kane, had an incredible last 7-8 games of the playoffs. Was one of if not the best player on the ice. There's no knocking he won it at all.

Kane also started the playoffs on fire assisting on like 5 of the first 6 goals with the primary assist during the Wild Series. Was a point a game player until Detroit rolled around and Babcock keyed on him and Toews.

I'm becoming a believer that a strong power play is very much overrated. The past 3 Cup champions couldn't do shit on the PPs (at least in the regular season). But as long as you play solid 5-on-5, and can kill the PPs, you're going to have a chance at the Cup.

At this point I don't see how anyone can have anything bad to say about Q and Bowman. I was reading in the paper that McDonough was strongly urging Bowman to make a big free agent signing the past couple of years, but Bowman stuck to his guns and stood his ground against his boss saying "our boys can get it done"....and he was dead right. Unfortantely, McDough's downside is that he likes to throw money at the problem....which doesn't always work (just look at the Cubs). But he does create a very enjoyable market for the fans...I'll give him that.

As far as Q, he joings a small group of Chicago coaches that have won multiple championships in this town. The legendary Ditka can't even say that.

I think what I love about the cup and the aftermath is that pictures and videos of the ones like Toews and Kane already are expected. At any other point in the year these types of things would be huge scandals, but when you win the cup anything goes and the bigger the better. As much as it all means to the players I think just as big of a reward is they get to let it all hang out in a big way with no real repercussions from the media or the team. As if they needed anymore incentive than that. hah.

I agree! I can't get enough of looking at the celebration photos and videos like this. They are so entertaining. I love when Kane says, "Like what?" so slyly to Dave when he's trying to get him to tell him something debaucherous.

How many games during the "streak" did we win by one goal? 26 games this season were decided by one goal and of those, 17 were wins. Considering we blew out the other team 5 times this season (including a shellacking of the Kings, Yotes, Stars, and Wings), why does the coach get credit for being behind those wins? Let's not forget that we owned the Wings in the regular season but Q was most certainly out coached by Babcock when it actually mattered.

I guess I just don't see what the rose-colored glasses crowd sees with this guy. The glass is definitely half full (regardless of the record), imo. I guess I am not the only one considering he has yet to win the Jack Adams even in a year that he won the Cup and had one of the best winning/loss-free streaks of all time.

Ton, as far as Q handling Crawford well...Q does little to no coaching of the goalies. That is why the Hawks have employed a dedicated goalie coach since they let Tretiak go (because he couldn't be a dedicated coach). Q was however responsible for game day decisions on who to play and over the last two years very much enjoyed benching the "number 1 goalie" for long stretches to the point that it got in their head so much that they admitted it to reporters! How is that doing a good job with your goalies?

What was his best moves in the Finals? Putting Kane and Toews back together? How many of us novices/fans screamed about that shit? Nearly all of us here and much of the hockey/Chicago media. Q benching Leddy? Smart, but was it totally necessary? I actually think Leddy is peaked and very limited, fyi, so you could assume that I would want him out of the lineup...but not at the expense of every other D when they were just about fried physically. How did that whole 'benching Stahlberg and replacing him with Bollig' turn out? mmmhhhmmmm

LOL

You claim Q had talent but didn't win enough (I guess 2 cups, and a WCF isn't enough in 5yrs)...but Babcock had the greatest Dman in the history, 2 of the best 2 way forwards....some of the most loaded rosters - that were already together, groomed, played together for years...and he's managed 1 Cup. Oh...and never won a Jack Adams

So he pretty much is a shitty coach too.

How many goals did Stalberg score in the playoffs? When was his last goal? Hmmmm

Now...they're not beating teams by enough goals???? LOL

What team won the jennings? What team had the best goal differential?

Yeah...rose colored glasses are better than shit stained ones

"Fans" pissed and moaned about Bickell not playing much in game 3....did you know how his knee felt/was?

"Fans" pissed and moaned about Handzus' faceoffs....did you know he had a broken wrist?

Did any of Bollig's 9 hits in game way...have an effect on any of BOS injuries?

So...it'd be better to play the lines or the players "fans" want - instead of winning a cup

Funny Scotty was OK/explained the handling of Leddy's icetime....but the novice fans know better

There's definitely a reason why novice fans sit at home and he's a 3 time cup winning HOF Coach...regardless of only 1 Jack Adams Award

Got to agree what pmxclland is saying. Coach Q knows a hell of a lot more about hockey and coaching than any of us armchair coaches do. And listening to the players after the win they acknowledged and credited Q for the success they had. The insane record they managed in this shortened season is a testament to how well coach Q ran the bench and managed his players so they were relatively fresh when the playoff grind came around. He made the needed adjustments when things didn't work, some might say very late in some cases, but did them nonetheless and Chicago is celebrating their second cup in 3 years because of it. You just don't get to 600+ wins and two Stanley Cups by being a shit coach, no matter what you think he does wrong.

I for one aren't bitching about Q anymore. Two Cups in 4 years says I don't know much about hockey when I do.

His resume is now completely stacked.

I never had a huge problem with Bickell though and KNEW he had the potential to play like he did. Just was unhappy sometimes he didn't. Same with Buff though.
