No one knows who they would win/wouldnt win with

Same could be said they don't win without Kane...

Same as some that said "anyone would have won coaching the team in 2010"

There were several players that could have won this Conn Smythe - CC, Bickell, Sharp, Kane, Keith...some even think Seabrook. There would be no issues with anyone of those guys winning it...and there will be some that feels/can be slighted regardless

As long as there's no bonus this year....I could care less who won it

Kane had points in 13 of the 23 playoff games. Good stats but not sure it's that "obvious" he should have won.

Crawford has an exceptional playoff run and a case could have easily been made for him to win.

When you consider who chooses the winner and how they do it, then yes it would have been obvious to those voters who they should be voting for.

I think in 2010, Quenneville did have the benefit of a monster team. He didn't need to do much, but that doesn't make him a bad coach.

This year, I think he proved that he could take a good team and make them great. His coaching this year was absolutely phenomenal. Sure, at times I had my gripes, but no one is perfect. Q coached as near perfect as anyone could have asked for.

I just don't understand this line of thinking. When you only look at the results then of course, Q is a godly coach amongst men. But when you actually watch every game and scrutinize his roster moves or the horrific PP% or the inability to dominate (even though they won) most games or the 'goalie controversies' that he creates or any number of other very finite realities of his minute to minute and game to game coaching practices, then how can you possibly say that he is the reason this team was great?

He had a bevy of amazing players and two very solid goaltenders. This team won in spite of him in many many many games.

Are you sure you aren't thinking of Dan Bylsma?

He outcoached every single coach in the playoffs, regardless of the Hawks terrible PP (the only sore spot)... which is realistically the only problem the team had during their run. Other than that, I think he did a fantastic job with Crawford, changed up his lines at the right times, and made all the right moves, pushed all the right buttons, and got the maximum potential out of this roster.

But I suppose they could have won every game 10-0, went 48-0 in the regular season, and 16-0 in the playoffs if not for Quenneville's idiotic methods.

Ultimately we can all be reminded that as critical as we all may be of Q, he has coached over 1000 more NHL games than any critic here.

I dont understand that argument. Just as Ton touched on what about all those good teams that lost in the playoffs historically? Coaching always matters no matter what the roster looks like esp when the team starts getting beat up and injured like both the Hawks and the Bruins were. What's Bostons excuse for losing? People keep forgetting that Boston was a really good team with a lot of depth also. Juliens a great coach but at the end of it he also got out coached by Q. Hawks are indeed a great team and Q does have something to do with that. He has been with the core a good five years now and has played a part in their grooming. He made mistakes along the way to this cup and in 2010..find me a coach that never has. He did it this season with a lack of center depth which is pretty rare and a team that struggled with faceoffs (thats on players). Found ways to work around it and a lot of that has to do with the style of hockey he implemented. **** it he had a guy that was known more for offense (kind of) and turned him into a bloody short handed specialist. He did a lot with this current roster in my opinion.

Again too much emphasis on his mistakes and not enough on the good things he has done. Doubt anyone on the roster thinks lowly of Q so I don't understand why any fan would. At the end of the day it's what the players think of him not us fans. Im sure he gets high marks. Toews himself has said countless times he has the upmost respect for Q and Q gets the final word and no one ever argues or makes a fuss about his decisions. Perhaps just on the record remarks but I buy into it regardless. I see no tension btw players and coach with this org and never have since Q stepped in. People tend to read into things a bit too much like the Leddy benching and the Stalberg scratching and all that stuff. He also appears to be damned if he does and damned if he doesn't. Him getting blamed for the pp these years is absurd. The players need to take a lot of accountability with that and I sure they do.

Like him or not Q now has 2 cups in 4 years. That's enough to put anyone at the top of best coaches in the league. If he were to leave the org today he could find a job with any NHL team. Hes also hall of fame bound with the record he has and the 2 cups. He also took a young unexperienced hawks team to a conference final at one point (incase anyone forgot). Guess he gets no credit for that?

I'll just be glad if for the rest of their careers the title of this thread is comparing two hawks. They are both so different on the ice and yet neither would have a cup without the other. It's amazing to me to see such radically different styles compliment each other so well. It's a tribute to each others unique skills.

Babcock is one of the best coaches in the NHL, made mistakes, could not adjust to Q's game plan and squandered a 3-1 series lead.

While I'm not a fan of Darryl Sutter, he has been very successful with the Kings resurgence and was nearly swept.

Julien is also regarded as one of the best coaches in the NHL — and after the Blackhawks tied Game 6, he did not call a timeout, and they were scored on 17 seconds later to practically handed the Cup away.

All coaches make mistakes, but for the most part, Quenneville has a great pulse on his team and can make necessary adjustments. Also little moves, such as sending bleeding Shaw on the ice to give Toews a break were very savvy moves. He has a good grasp on the team, the game, and employs a pretty exciting brand of hockey.

I hope the coaching staff figures out how to make the PP work in the offseason. I have no ideas how, except the backdoor pass hasn't been there for like 2 years.

Was it 08-09 when we had the amazingly fucking awesome PP? What were they doing then that they aren't doing now?

Yea there is no denying Q of anything right now. He was being out coached by Babcock, adjusted and out coached him. Similar to what he did with Julien.

There's just nothing you can say bad at this point.

Stan as well. He retooled this team after losing half a Roster and in two years, with the core he had, won another Cup and is on the verge of possibly a dynasty of some sort with 80% of this team returning, including their CORE players.

Crawford should have one the Con Smythe and even Kane eluded to that several times. No surprise the writers shunned him they have done it all year and through out the playoffs.

**** them he won the Stanley Cup.

Kane, had an incredible last 7-8 games of the playoffs. Was one of if not the best player on the ice. There's no knocking he won it at all.

Kane also started the playoffs on fire assisting on like 5 of the first 6 goals with the primary assist during the Wild Series. Was a point a game player until Detroit rolled around and Babcock keyed on him and Toews.
