Olympic Gold Medal, Stanley Cup Champion, Conn Smythe Winner...

This is not even close. Also Toews is one of the most complete players at his sport... Rose is not, yet.

Toews is also a top 5-10 player in the NHL, Rose is not that in the NBA... yet.

This should not even be a topic... Toews is a top 10 player in the NHL and has a gold medal and a ring. He is also known for his complete game.

Rose is not a top 10 player in the NBA, is not even a complete player and has no ring.

Toews...has accomplished more in his career and has a higher standing in his league than Rose. Plays with a superstar player who compliments his style (will they play on the same line this year?) and captained a team to the Stanley Cup, arguably the hardest championship to win in sports.

Number 23 was wearing a Number 19 at a Stanley Cup game last spring...holla at me when Number 9 of the Blackhawks is wearing Number 1 in a skybox at the UC during a NBA Finals series...feel me!

I am an NBA guy but some of you basketball guys sound like neanderthals when giving your reasoning....lol

That said, Chicago is lucky to have good young players like those two along with Kane.

Well, this really is a no-brainer. The Captain is more important to the Hawks since the Hawks are the Stanley Cup champs.

Rose is very important tot the Bulls too, but Rose has yet to see the 2nd round.

They're both great, and will hopefully be here for many years.

You can make a case for 2 other guys just on the Bears' defense over Urlacher...

I'm going with Rose...

is there seriously anyone in the whole world who thinks the bears are not brian urlacher's team? yes julius peppers is awesome, and i'm assuming you're talking about briggs and he's a pippen not a jordan. but this is urlacher's team. no doubt.

and people will talk about the bears before any other sport in chicago, exception being if the bulls have the GOAT.

but yeah, i'm going with urlacher still.

OK, the Article is Titled, MVP for Chicago. This might be outside of the box, but it's closer tot he right answer than either Rose or Toews.

The MVP for Chicago is still Da' Coach, Mike Ditka.

Here me out now. He's idolized in this town. He's got oodles of advetisement from television, radio, newsprint, etc. He has the longest running sports radio show (and keeps getting bid higher and higher between the stations for rights).

Seriously, I think he brings more money and notoriety to the city than anyone else. Maybe Michael Jordan still, but I really think the coach has passed him locally.

NO, the coach has not passed Jordan locally. A lot of people think Ditka is overrated and became a parody of himself over time, like Bobby Knight and others of that ilk. Not saying that he is a bad coach, but "Da Coach" is only who he is because of the Bears, and this is a Bears town first and foremost. So the town made "Da Coach" more than anything, and I think other cities look at us with pity...and they should if Ditka is this town's MVP.
