I know Toews won a Cup last year for Chicago, but Rose has resurrected the Bulls from the dead, and he will win a title within 5 years.
Two different sports, two different types of players, one gigantic douchebag of a city that would care about something like this.
Then why would you be an idiot and respond?
I know Toews won a Cup last year for Chicago, but Rose has resurrected the Bulls from the dead, and he will win a title within 5 years.
He wasn't and that was a long time ago that he said that.
Exactly, Toews had help with Kane, Keith, Havalat, Hossa, Seabrook. Derrick Rose had limited help at best his first two seasons in the league.
I beg to differ on that, but both have preformed at MVP levels this season.
Basketball is more of an individual sport than hockey and Rose has almost single-handenly led his team to be championship contenders. This is Rose.
they weren't champion contenders until this year really. And he has Noah, Boozer, Deng, et al. It's not like he's alone. May not have Wade and Bosh like James have, but it's not like LeBron and Cleveland either.
Rose is 22 years old. And his teammates aren't exactly world-beaters plus Loozer and Noah have missed time.
MVP is what have you done THIS YEAR not in past years. Rose is having the better year in his respective sport.

At the same time, Rose's success has all been individual success. He has yet to win a playoff series, let alone a championship. And Toews runs that locker room. While Rose is the franchise player...who's locker room is it? Time will tell, but I think Toews deserves respect for what he has accomplished...
If you're questioning whose locker room it is for the Bulls, I ask you to watch a Bulls game. I don't think there is a question now of who the leader is.
Rose had no low post presence the last two years, or a SG or Deng for one of the playoff series. The fact the Bulls reached the playoffs the last two years is a miracle.
Comparing hockey and basketball efforts are like comparing apples to oranges.
