That is were I disagree.
I want baseball reasons why he shouldnt manage the sox, not oh well "he had a dui, lied about MM, talks mean to the press" I want baseball reasons. A dui was a one time distraction that didnt last long, if you want to use outside distractions, ozzie and his family are always a distraction and always Special person. Again, if it means duncan comes along with him and the whole entire coaching regime is fired, im all in.

Duncan is good, but I like Cooper. Both coaches are good coaches. If they brought their hitting coach, I would like that. He has to be better than Greg Walker.

I hope Ozzie is gone too. Part of the reason is his off-the-field antics. So why bring in ANOTHER manager that has off-the-field antics? There are plenty of other managers that aren't a distraction off the field and don't tolerate that shit with their players either. So with that said, IT IS a valid consideration.
LaRussa is also a stubborn old fart. He is TOO loyal to his players, defending them when they are obviously wrong. He defends cheaters and then hires them on his staff. He doesn't go by the rules and is way too "old school," therefore showing his lack of ability to the baseball of today. He also has one of the biggest egos in the sport, he is NEVER wrong in his opinion.
I'd rather have a manager that can adapt, is only loyal to a point, and can admit when he is wrong and move on. I'm just not a fan of LaRussa at all and I would love to see his last 6+ years without Pujols and Dave Duncan saving his ass by being an amazing pitching coach.

We need a manager who cares more about the product on the field than he does about his image and controversies off the field. Plain and simple.
