Does anyone happen to know the name of the memorabilia place that was on the 100 level during the Festival. He was selling pucks, signed photos, regular photos, etc...?

I picked up a card of his, but can't find it.

Thanks!

John Scott just made Stalberg look silly in a 1 on 1 almost breakaway. Sounds like his skating has really improved this offseason.

And it also sounds like I have even more of a reason to worry about Stalberg being here. I seriously hope he gets sent to Rockford or somewhere else.

Not sure what the problem is...he plays 10min a game, scored 12g (3 being GWG)/24pts ..has crazy speed

He's 25 and just played his first full season. Why not let him develop/play?

Brouwer went from 10g to 22g from year 1 until 2...and there were a lot of people that didn't like him, said he couldn't skate, etc

Going to a new team and trying to find an identity is tough and most of the time it's not done in your first full year.

I don't know how you can't see what the problem is if John Scott can see what the problem is? And I'm not a Stahlberg hater, he's just very frustrating.

Because John Scott made a play - on a drill or scrimmage on him?

I once saw Probert with DET undress Chelios in a one on one in a real game - and he won the Norris.

"Really improved"---that sounds like wishful thinging to me. From his skating baseline all one could do was actually go up after all. The only things I have read about his skating is that of course he was told to and then proceeded to work really hard at improving it this offseason. Since TC has begun in terms of his skating the only posittive I have read is that yes his skating direction transitions are indeed better but the actual skating in one direction or another? Still like a fucking plyon.

At 6'8 he's a giant pylon

It at least takes an extra stride or two to get around/so backcheckers can catch up. He actually didn't do so bad vs Van in the playoffs when needed.

Chances are, with Keith, Seabrook, Montador, Hjarll, Leddy, O'Donnell, Liepisto....he's 8th on the chart - so not sure he'll see much if any blueline time, even though thats where he's playing most at in TC

If his skating improved even to that of a Hal Gill he's a hell of a good option as 6th D-Man. I saw Hal Gill and Josh Gorges almost singlehandedly shut down Pittsburgh in the playoffs two seasons ago. Having a D-Man that big that can get better at skating backwards and laterally is actually really useful. Oh and John Scott can fight too, unlike Hal Gill.

Grimson reminds me of my family....we gravitated to the "special people" in our neighborhood too!

Hal can play though. Would rather have a 6'8 Dman that can play than one that can only fight.

I just think the chances of him dressing over both OD or Lepisto - barring an injury - is slim.

My favorite teams
  1. Portland Timbers
  1. Chicago Blackhawks
I personally do not see the enamoration with Stalberg. He's got speed but so did Skille, and they both brought little else. I would rather see Smith (who actully looked very good), or even Morin get a shot over him. Give him time in the A to work on something else besides speed.

Morin needs to get healthy - and not sure it would be better for him to play 10min a game on the 4th line as oppsed to 18min a game with skilled players in the AHL

Swith the line combos/forwards as they are - Stalberg will probably be a 4th liner/13th forward

Sharp/Toews/Kane

Brunette/Kruger/Hossa

Bickell/Bolland/Frolik

(or whatever the top 9 combo will be)

Then, with Carcillo, Mayers, Olesz...then Stalberg...Scott as well

Not sure why it would be beneficial for Smith to be up and battling for 4th line minutes vs Stalberg instead of playing in Rockford meaningful minutes as well.

Brunette (38), Carcillo, Mayers (37) are all one year deals - with Brunette and Mayers a bit long in the tooth.

I think Smith and Morin's time will be more next year, than this season.

Courtesy of Nana.

This is an insightful quote from Scott:

“We have some guys who want to be third- and fourth-liners,” John Scott said. “I think last year we had third- and fourth-liners who wanted to be first- and second-liners so everyone knows their role this year. That’ll help and lead to a more balanced team.”

Pretty wishful thinking Kruger is ready to Center the 2nd line.

Brunette-Toews-Kane

Olezs-Sharp-Hossa

Frolik-Bolland-Bickell

Carcillo-Kruger-Mayers.

Stalberg is still the odd man out/scratch.

Seabrook-Keith

Hjarlmarsson-Montedor

Leddy-Lepisto/Odonnell

Scott the odd man out here.

I was just throwing it out there some sort of combo

My point was more towards the 4th line Stalberg was going to be battling for ice time there. I would rather him sit as a 13th forward than to have Smith or Morin sitting.

And you, RK, more than anyone knows the lines will change...shift....to...shift....lol
