If they trade for a center that is making multi-milllions then they would have to trade someone making multi-millions. Just because their cap says they can take on 3.5m, it does not mean their overall budget can take on 3.5m. The Hawks have no one they can unload with a multi-million contract except for Ole and I am sure that would be a tough sale.

As I see it; the 3.5+m cap space will only be used at trade deadline time to sure up any holes they may see at that time. Even if Ole does not make the big club coming out of camp, which would give them a 6+m cap space, I still believe they will sit on that number.

I just don't see the Hawks adding a multi-million dollar contract to their budget to start off the season!

TY Captain obvious. Again I wouldn't be too sure they aren't looking for a Center. Will they get one, probably not. Of course they'd have to deal a contract away. But they have space to sign more than they trade.

The way I see it is their depth at Center blows ass. One injury, they are in deep shit right off the bat. That's their biggest concern.

I was looking for #27 and didn't see him. What is with Morin - doesn't play in Oshawa and didn't see him play today. Is he a figment of our imagination of are the Hawks hushing up his readiness to play?

Still injured. Day to Day.

Same injury from last year.

Then I really wish they'd announce that instead of this farce the Hawks/Hogs have had going since April when he was called up for the Black Aces and the coaching and training staff said back then during the playoffs that he'd be set to go for Training Camp. IMO it's better just to admit he's still recovering then repeatedly announcing his inclusion in rosters and shit and having people look for him only to wonder where he is when he subsequently never suits up.

I agree. This team ain't the Patriots and we're not in the playoffs so I wish they'd just be up front about Morin.

It's a concussion. I don't think they really know when he'll be back. Similar to Crosby.

Well then he should be listed as injured and everyone will know he's out until further notice. I don't get why they sent him to Oshawa and listed him in the training camp scrimages. It's not like they're going to let him play if he has two good days in a row. Besides, I thought it was a neck injury - I must have missed to notice where it was changed to concussion.

Maybe he's fine and just can't pass the baseline test. Once he passes that test, he's cleared for ice time.

They are never clear with injuries. You know that. Ever.

He's asking for that simply to get out of Phoenix.

Kind of a dumb move/way of doing it by his agent, IMO. Going to put quite a big spotlight on him if he stays or goes.

I think he'll get moved out and sign a deal around 2yr - around 2mil per year

HF50 said that 4mil, will be a bargain for him...FYI

I know that and that's my point, we have ALL known that since he last played in January so if he's still recovering then so be it there's nothing that can be done as it will take as much time as it takes period. But this bullshit where they keep pimping his name in the inclusion of things like Black Aces, Lugano, Rookie Tournament and now TC is just low-rent and completely unnecessary---if he's still injured then fans and the press can "get" that and accept it to keep pimping out this notion that he's traveled with a team and is game-ready is just ludicrous if he's still recovering from a hellacious concussion. They have to realize people haven't seen him play or even scrimmage since January and therefore if they tell us he's been included on a roster then we necessarily want to see how his game looks. . .only to find out he's just a "phantom" roster inclusion who they have no intention of playing.

I think they made the worst decision back in April in saying he would be fine for TC---they should have just kept their yaps shut.

11 goal scorer asking for 3 to 4m per

This is all about him trying to get the hell out of Phoenix IMO. And who could blame him as they enter their 2nd consecutive season without having an owner and essentially being in conservatorship of the League and likely the next team to be re-located. And that's on top of the more salient issue which is that he wants minutes under a coach and system that is hellbent on relying on vets because that's proven effective for them the past few seasons.

The media never allows them to keep their Yaps shut. I hear ya, but it won't do any good.

Maybe he was fine and the symptons returned? They'd never say that though. Either way he'd be starting in Rockford there just isn't any room for him.

I don't know what the big deal is. Not that it's the fans business or they owe anything to tell them whats going on medically with someone.

The symptoms can come and go. Savard came back briefly...Crosby's status changes week to week it seems...

I'm sure when he's 100% cleared, he'll be back - in Rockford where he should be.
