I LMAO when they were telling the shootout story they said was absolutely true, and at the same time they were showing the real story which was nothing like the lie they told everyone.

Probably the best series I have seen. It doesn't hurt to have 2 amazing actors in it instead of these other season series shows that have one decent one and a bunch of B actors. The acting in this series is the best I have seen by a landslide as well as the cursing between these two guys is hilarious!

Mick..I subscribed to HBO just for this show..I got em to lower the cost from 18 per month to 11 per month, and I can cancel after 30 days..The show has 8 episodes..Then I will cancel..Its worth the 11 a month for this show

I was disappointed it wasn't at least 12-13, but I guess you can only afford Harrelson and McCougnhey for so long LOL.

I was a big fan of Handsome Family whose song is used for the intro. They were originally from New Mexico (well, the guy was), but moved to Chicago, and were friends of friends. I lived in NM for about 3 years, and then moved to Chicago, expecting to catch them live. At which point, they moved back to NM and almost immediately played at a gig at one of my old watering holes. They are a reclusive husband-and-wife duo but turn out some great fucked-up country.

I missed it the first time too, but went back and re-watched the first 3 episodes because I was half asleep during my first viewing.

Hahaha. True Detective isn't a show you want to watch if you can't give your full attention. I was missing a few things and the story was starting to not makes sense. I'd imagine the same if you start mixing up shows LOL
