Anyone watching New Girl?

I really like the show and I think it's getting better from week to week. Jess is the kind of girl that if she was your roommate you'd want to smack upside the head, but in the show it somehow works.

I tried it, hated it, never cared for the Fox brand of sitcoms.

I haven't seen American Horror Story yet, it looked like it could be good but potentially too campy at the same time. Is it hammy?

It's kinda campy but not too much in my opinion...the last episode dropped a bomb that i absolutely did not see coming. I've seen a lot of horror type movies and whatnot and i like the show, it's a little crazy and unpredictable at times and then there's the other times where I just laugh and say really? or Ew, really? But that's just me

I keep watching New Girl to see if it gets better because i think it has potential, sometimes Zooey is just too far on the weird spectrum that it can be annoying to watch but other times she is funny.

Yeah, there'd be such a thing as too much Jess and too much Schmidt but I'd rather have either of them as roommates than I would Chandler, Monica or Ross as friends. At least you wouldn't have to hang out with them outside of the apartment, y'know.

I called that at the beginning of the episode (had been wondering for a little while with the subtle hints). That scene was well done... very creepy to watch it unfold. I think what sets the show apart is the acting, particularly of Jessica Lange and Frances Conroy. They are both doing a superb job. I also think the show is interesting in that there are a lot of multidimensional female characters... not something you see every day.

I'll be watching Bag of Bones too.

I agree, Jessica Lange is outstanding

I caught the first couple of episodes and have just been too busy to keep watching. It seems cute, but I prefer Two Broke Girls over this one.

I hated Two Broke Girls. The jokes seemed forced. I haven't been able to make it through an entire episode.

The first few weren't great and Kat Dennings has no comedic timing, but I do think it's an interesting concept. I just wish they didn't rely on the "live-audience" format, ultimately that's what ends up ruining it for me - the jokes would be better if they weren't relying on an audience to let us know when to laugh.

I really wish comedies would get away from the live audience. I like it so much better when they do. Most of my favorites have no live audience. Community, The Office, Modern Family, Arrested Development are perfect examples. I really think Big Bang Theory would be better with no audience as well but I guess they feel a lot of people wouldn't get the jokes.

I like Big Bang Theory and I agree with your point - because with the laugh track, it just feels like it's pandering to the Nerds, but making everyone else still feel superior to them and "in on" the jokes.

I was talking with sublimeruin/McAtoms the other day and I realized that I love Community because it gives me all the nerd references I can take - but isn't trying to pander to me. Community doesn't care if a portion of their audience doesn't get it.

Never felt that the big bang theory panders to anyone. Sure they are all the stereotypes of nerds but meh stereotypes exist for a reason. I actually think the show is fantastically written and acted as a nerd I can relate to the characters a lot.

Does anyone watch Once Upon a Time? I love it. I'm enjoying the new fairy tale shows (Grimm, too) quite a bit, i think they are interesting and i enjoy seeing the different interpretations of the fairytales and the alternate universe that once upon a time has created for those fairytale characters

Ya know what I hate in TV, dream sequences. For me it started with the ones in the Sopranos. They all suck, they are boring and fucking meaningless.

Ha, I thought almost everything about The Sopranos was brilliant, including the dream sequences.

Loved the show absolutely hated those episodes. Boardwalk Empire dabbled in it a few episodes back and all those scenes bored me to death.

looks like Starz Camelot got the axe. I kinda liked that show, and that one broad playing the villain was fuckin hot.

Was that the chick from the James Bond movie (the first one with Daniel Craig)? She is extremely hot.
