What I like about Shane and the show breaking the season into two parts is that they can analyze what's going well, and what's in the toilet. Shane's character IMO is representative of what the viewer thinks. I think they did research of fan sites to address those points.

I'm expecting a major player to die by the end of this season, and since I read the first collection of graphic novels, it will be interesting if they hold true to the original storyline.

From the previews of the season it looks like they find the prison or whatever so I'm pumped about that, it will get interestin then but yes, I would expect them to start stockpiling charecters in order to start offing others. I'm through issue 84 and it's lagged a bit recently. Seems like he's been so involved in everything else that the actual comic has taken a hit a bit. Still good just not as improptu and shocking.

And in line with that. Look for the walking dead video game due out mid year. And, as with the series and comic, it won't be your typical game.

The Walking Dead is an upcoming episodic video game based on Robert Kirkman's The Walking Dead graphic novel series. The game is under development by Telltale Games.[sup][2][/sup] The Walking Dead was planned for release in the fourth quarter of 2011.[sup][3][/sup] It is now expected to be released in mid 2012.

Kirkman has said that, unlike typical zombie games such as Left 4 Dead, it will focus more on characterization and emotion than action.[sup][4][/sup]

It will also be the first game from Telltale to use the PlayStation Move & Wii Remote Plus.

As much as I love all things walking dead, I expect this game to suck.

It could go either way. Telltale games has done well with the sam & max series and the Monkey Island series but bombed on the Jurassic Park game

I agree with what Supra said. Last night's episode was probably my favorite of season 2. The scene with the "new" people in the bar was flat out well written, acted, and provided the necessary tension that show has been lacking for a while.

I still don't get how each character allows themselves to venture alone in situations. Rick's wife crashing is a good example. Anyone in that situation will not be paying attention to a map. Your eyes are on walkers or people attempting to scavenge.

The point driven home in last night's episode further enforces that even with the lack of living people, camaraderie is hard to come by.

BHP - you couldn't have said it any better, I totally agree.

For Lori to just walk/drive off and look for Rick was just fucking stupid...

The scene is the bar was so well set up and the tension created was palpable.

Really starting to feel for Rick... guy who doesn't WANT to be the leader but knows he has to and he has everyone (including his wife) challenging his every decision... that has to shake a man's faith in himself.

Yeah but that is the problem with Rick's style, he's too conservative, to hesitant to make a decision. Understandably since it might cost someone their life but still too conservative.

So I think Southland is my favorite TV show. It is easily the best cop show I've ever watched. I think it was Mass that told me it was on TNT, thank you good sir, if it was someone, I apologize I forgot who told me but regardless thank you so much. It helps they got rid of that one cop's wife, she was fucking annoying and whiny.

It used to be Justified but outside the last 3-4 episodes of season 2 it has not matched the entertainment value of the first season.

It looks like walking dead will feature a clash of survivors. I expect Shane to be a pivotal character for this eventual show down.

I wish the show would actually completely stop following the comics. It gets kind of annoying with a friend saying "tee hee, wait until...bla bla bla". Yeah im not going to read the comics. Apparently its not exactly following the comics but from what I understand overall plotwise it is.

The one thing I think they are doing is dragging shit out too long. The first half, 3 episodes, 4 tops.

They overcompensated. The first season utterly lacked any real character development, now there is generally too much.

All your trash talk about Canadians and Canadian TV has killed Wheels from Degrassi.

Five years ago.

I remember I ended up in a what the hell is this shit moment when I had no idea what degrassi was, and rented the dvd's of "Jay and Silent Bob do degrassi". I thought it was some Kevin Smith special. When i started the dvd I said exactly that, what the hell is this shit. The only good TV to come out of Canada was Kids in the Hall.

While on this topic, ive always been curious, does Canada mostly import US TV shows, or do you guys actually fill up nightly lineups with canadian produced shows? I've always thought it would be weird if 90% of your media entertainment was imported from another country. (Although lets be honest, there really isnt that much of a difference between your average American and Canadian).

Degrassi is a Canadian teen drama that started in the 80s. A lot of the actors were kids and not kid actors and it was all about issues and being young, but not like after school specials. Sure, there were cheesy parts, but it was much more realistic and had great writing. It was easy to get obsessed and all Canadian kids/teens watched Degrassi Junior High and Degrassi HIgh. The original series ended in the early 90s. Then in 2001 they decided to revive the franchise with an all-new cast and it's been airing again since then in Canada and the US.

Degrassi in pop culture is pretty significant. Aaron Spelling tried to buy the rights to Degrassi, but couldn't get the deal made, so instead made Beverly Hills 90210. Yes, Degrassi was the inspiration for that show and a lot of other teen dramas since them. Kevin Smith is obsessed with Degrassi (all shows) and has referenced it in Chasing Amy and has appeared on the new show as himself. The rapper, Drake, was an actor on Degrassi: The Next Generation.

Anyway, the point it, Degrassi is awesome and is a damn fine representation of how awkward it was to be a kid in the 80s and early 90s. Shit was weird then.

I guess I can stop talking about Degrassi now.

I am way more upset about Wheels dying than Whitney Houston. She didn't shape my childhood!

Bah, none of that crap would have related to me as a child. Now if they had a show called "Hey white boy" about the trials and tribulations of a lone white jr. high student in the early 90's being the periodic object of revenge from the student populace for years of racial oppression. That I could have related to.

I believe I posted the Chasing Amy quote in here a couple weeks ago... the best part of that episode was Alanis Morisette. It felt weird having Kevin Smith trying to hook up with that character... you know, because he's married and all.
