I totally forgot about the fact there was a black guy in their group until I saw him tonight. Where has he been?

He's been low key because he got hurt. WAY back, that's my theory

Another good episode. Perhaps my only pet peeve of the show is how some character will disappear for an episode or two.

I agree. T-Dawg, The woman that lost her kid (i dont even know her fucking name), are AWOL in alot of episodes. I understand if a given character is a focal point of an episode and the others are absent or not prominent. I seriously dont think T-dawg has had more than 2 lines in any given episode this entire season.

The only bad thing about Dale dying is the next episode will be all weepy and shit over his death. Big deal the world's last hippy died, meh whatever.

The thing about Dales death is his injury really wasnt immediately life threatening. So he had his intestines pulled out a bit. There are plenty of war stories about dudes, holding their guts in their stomache after being disemboweled by shrapnel and continuing to fight and living, and this guy would die from being carried for a half a mile?

and you just know leaving that randall jackass alive is going to cause ramifications. My guess, he escapes, gets his people and they show up to the farm where they essentially take over for an episode or 2 during this, with randalls hint of what they are like, some or all the women are gonna get raped, then more likely than not Shane is gonna go apeshit, or they will just escape.

I don't think Shane will be the one going ape shit. I think Rick is going to go on a killing spree when and if they rape his wife. Shane is gonna be shane and just kill them because he likes it.

dale, dale, dale.....glad you died you pussy ****. one step closer to shane owning everyone/everything and ruling the world. the episode was worth sitting thru just to see that happen.

even better, was seeing that "the killing" is back on starting april 1st. now that is a show, loved the first season.

I'd be curious to know what it is you love about The Killing. The two leads are great actors, but the rest was forgettable and frustrating. I spent most of the first season thinking of terrible jokes that involved the different ways I'd rather be killed than watch a second season of that show. Broad characters, inconsistent character behaviour, a very mixed-bag in terms of storytelling and ham-fisted dialogue. My favourite part was playing the "Where in Vancouver Did They Shoot That Scene?" game. And I did watch the entire season because I hate to develop an opinion when I haven't seen at least one full season of a show.

Yeah this explained it perfectly.

The Walking Dead is quickly becoming a show that I really want to like, but it is making it impossible.

I've spoken before about how slowly I feel this season is moving, but after the scenes in the town bar and the previous week's episode I felt like I was wrong. It was a great episode with Rick and Shane throwing down as well as a mess of zombies. I thought that it was the beginning of the climax that the slow burn of this season had been building to.

Then this past week's episode capitalized on none of that, bringing us back to the same questionable (to say the least) decisions and more conversations about "how bad it is out there."

It was during this episode though that I was able to finally put my finger on what it is that's been bugging me about the show for almost the entire season: it's way too comfortable.

I'm fine with the show differing from the book, in fact I invite it. I like to be surprised and not know exactly what's coming. But there is none of the tension and insecurity that makes the books such a fun read. The first few episodes of the show captured this feeling really well, but now we see our cast sitting around with plenty of food to eat, cars to drive and even working appliances in the beautiful farmhouse, with the occasional walker stumbling by.

This is life after the dead rise? Seems like all they are missing is wi-fi and a Vita to keep Carl occupied.

Like I say, I want to like this show. Hell, I want to LOVE this show. I don't fully blame the cast and crew either. AMC has ground the Walking Dead budget down to the barest of bones to appease the Mad Men Gods. It explains the conversations that last over the course of several episodes and why members of the cast have been reduced to background cameos in their own series. But with that said, the show doesn't need over-the-top expensive effects every two minutes to make it enjoyable. It just needs to be made uncomfortable again to get that tension back.

I think World War Z had a similar "Zombie" virus... it was an airborne and stayed dormant until you died - meaning that if you didn't die of head/brain-trauma you turned into a zombie. Having only read a handful of the graphic novel - I'm not sure if this is how it is in this universe but that would certainly explain the two last night.

And I'll strongly say that Rick did EXACLTY what needed to be done last night.

I really enjoyed last night's episode, Rick might as well have done what he did last night because Daryl wasn't fooled in the least.

I swear, slow pacing or not I have been having Walking Dead dreams almost every Sunday night since the show has started back up. Last week was an exception. After Dale died I slept like a baby. Last night I was on the run outside with a horde of walkers heading toward town. Running inside a building probably wouldn't have helped in the dream though since I watched Holmes on Homes afterward and would probably just get pissed about the shoddy workmanship of the contractors not being up to par to keep out the zombies.
