If im not mistaken did they not start making that show again(firefly)? I swear to god a couple weeks ago I saw it on and was baffled the info said "new" and not "repeat".

Nope, no new eps. I think for that channel, the syndication rights were "new" meaning they had never shown Firefly on it... my father made the same mistake.

A fox show I really was into was the Good Guys. Bradley Whitford and Colin Hanks were awesome in it. It only went one season and got the axe. But I really liked it.

I didn't see all of them, but I loved this show, too. It was great to see Bradley Whitford doing comedy. Colin Hanks' ex-girlfriend on that show was also on Reapers - another great show taken before it's time.

Sherlock Season 2 Details Announced

Sherlock || By emma fraser || Filed July 1st, 2011

The second season of the BBC hit Sherlock is currently being filmed and some details regarding episode titles, the stories they are based on and some guest star news has been announced. Once again the series will consist of three 90 minute films and if they hit the high storytelling notes that they did last year, viewers will be left desperate for more. Be warned, I will be discussing elements of the original Sir Arthur Conan Doyle Stories so there will be some book spoilers ahead.

Episode 2.01 "A Scandal in Belgravia"

Taken from the short story "A Scandal in Bohemia" which features in The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes this is a love story for Holmes but not in the usual sense of the word. Holmes becomes fascinated by 'the women' Irene Adler (the character Rachel McAdams played in the 2009 Guy Ritchie film), not through the usual means of attraction but because she is the only woman to have outwitted him, a feat that is not easy. Steven Moffat has chosen to adapt this tale because of the twisted love story that is contained within the mystery. There has been no word as to who will be playing Adler as of yet.

Episode 2.02 "The Hounds of Baskerville"

This is easy to see which famous Holmes tale comes from and is possibly my favourite of the vast canon; The Hound of the Baskervilles. This was Conan Doyle's third full novel outing with Holmes and is by far the most adapted of his works on the small and big screen (there are at least 24 versions), and it has Holmes investigating what seems to be a mystical giant hound. It is the Gothic horror elements of the story that had Mark Gatiss wanting to be the writer of this episode and is perhaps the most frightening Sherlock Holmes adventure. In this new adaptation Being Human (UK version) werewolf Russel Tovey will be playing Henry Baskerville, the final Baskerville who is being hunted by the beast. He excitedly confirmed on his Twitter yesterday that he had indeed been cast on this episode of Sherlock as Henry Baskerville.

Episode 2.03 "The Reichenbach Fall"

Steve Thompson (Doctor Who) joins the Sherlock writing team and has the pleasure of tackling the finale. The story that looks like it is being adapted could have been the final outing for Sherlock Holmes; "The Final Problem" from The Memoirs of Sherlock Holmes. For any fan of the Holmes stories the name Reichenback Fall is sure to be familiar and I urge you that if you are not and don't want to be spoiled for this big twist to stop reading here. It is the waterfall in "The Final Solution" where both Moriarty and Holmes fall into, presumably killing them both. This story was actually written and released prior to The Hound of the Baskervilles, which Conan Doyle wrote after much public pressure to resurrect this beloved character, he did and went on to write many more Holmes stories. What is clear then is that this adaptation will be another showdown between Holmes and Moriarty but it is unclear whether they will both take a tumble in to the waterfall.

The choice to opt for three of the most famous Sherlock Holmes adventures was not an accident, Mark Gatiss explained the reason for this was:

"Having had a successful first run, we knew that the natural order would be to do the three most famous things, so we're doing a version of [those three stories]. They just fall like that, and then it's a question of how to get out of that [series one] cliffhanger!"

Choosing the really famous stories to retell could be considered a bold and brave move, but after the excellent first series of Sherlock I have a lot of faith in the writers and actors to produce strong and worthy adaptations. What do you think of these choices? Is your favourite there?

Sherlock will return to screens in the UK in the Fall, there is no air date for the US as of yet but it will likely air on PBS shortly after.

Sweet, I never know when shows are starting since I DVR them all. I love Eureka. A buddy and me had a discussion that it would be cool just to live in eureka. Even if you were a janitor or some crappy job it would still be awesome. Also Sali Whitfield....so freaking hot.

I liked Sherlock a lot, but I"m not big on the 3 1.5 hour episodes being a series. 4.5 hours is all you get for a full series?

Finally made it though BSG season "2.5". About 35 episodes I think? Been pretty good so far and about to get better. One thing that has been driving me crazy is way back at the beginning someone left Adama a note that said "There are 12 models". They never explain who left it or how it got there? What did I miss?

I'm about half-way through Season 2 and as far as I know... they've said nothing about where that note came from. At this point in the show, I'm counting 5 models (although, I don't know if Centurions and Raiders count as part of the 12).

Oh... and since you brought BSG up... Tigh is a dick and his wife is an evil *****.

Yeah, I'm just a little further than you. I love that season one is a full 15 episodes with a few longer ones, and season 2 is 20 episodes and they actually call it season 2 and season 2.5. I feel like they got canceled or something and just ran out all the material they had for one long season and then magically got picked up again. Centurions and Raiders are not models that I can tell. By the end of 2.5 you'll be up to 3 women and 4 guys... I Think you may be forgetting one which is why you are only counting 5 but I'm not quite sure where you are or where they are revealed. Tigh is a dick and she is an evil *****. I'd rather her go than him, he becomes slightly more likeable toward the end of this season. I can't wait to start season 3, but we had to stop yesterday because we knew if we started the season we'd watch a shit ton more instead of being productive. I think we watch like 10 episodes yesterday.

SPOILER FOR ANYONE WHO MIGHT BE INTERESTED IN WATCHING BATTLESTAR GALACTICA: The five I'm counting are: Tricia Helfer, the dude they caught at the armory, the PR guy, Grace Park and the black doctor... unless I'm at a point where they're about to reveal the "6th." SPOILER OVER

I'm basically where they just met the Resistance on Caprica and Starbuck just left to get back to BSG with the arrow. And I think the reason why I hate Tigh is because they've designed his character to be one that may be capable of good things, he just listens to his wife too much and doubts his abilities. Really interested to see where it's going to go with the Fleet breaking up.

For a scifi show with a heavy political and religious story, I'm actually getting into the show more than I thought I would.

Ahh ok, you'll find out the 6th soon and the 7th model by the end of the season. I laughed at the 7th, there is a great scene after they found him out where meets himself. haha just humorous, I won't say anything else because it will give it right away. I was surprised how good the show is with the heavy political and religious tones as well. You are going to love the rest of this season, it lulls a bit in the middle of where you are and the end, but the last 3 or 4 episodes are top notch and will have you wanting to start season 3 immediately. Especially with the last episode. I can't quite figure out Baltar most of the time, I hate him, but he redeems himself sometimes and looks like he's one of the good guys then he u-turns again. It's driving me nuts. I wish he would just die .

We get Adler AND The Hound of the Baskervilles? BRILLIANT!

Looks like!

I only hope they cast as well for one of the most mysterious ladies in literature as they stupendously cast Series One.

Since it's airing in the Fall in the UK I am predicting a post-holidays, winter TV season January debut on PBS.

Very cool - I've had other folks tell me I've got some good stuff to look forward to as well. I know exactly what you mean about Baltar. How is such a genius, such a dunderhead?

Also, I gotta stop checking out Wikipedia. Totally just ruined some information unintentionally.

Yeah, I'm figuring us Americans will probably have to wait a bit on this one... If Moffat is going to stay involved, I'm almost positive he's got someone already in mind for Irene Adler... and that they too, will be brilliant.

I'm a fan of a lot of shows on USA in the summer like White Collar, Royal Pains, and I like their new shows Suits and Necessary Roughness. Callie Thorne is way more awesome in Necessary Roughness than she is in Rescue Me

Wow! I am getting sooooo fucking old and out of the loop. I can honestly say I have never even heard of one of those shows Lauren. For reals. I guess no cable does that to a person. . .makes them a pop-culture relic.

I give USA huge props for basically making it ok for networks to create new programming for the summer (which they basically started with Monk). My favorites are still Psych and Royal Pains but as much as I loved Burn Notice, I just haven't been able to get caught up yet on the last two seasons. Have yet to see Suits and honestly Necessary Roughness just doesn't appeal to me.

Another summer show I've been digging is Memphis Beat with Jason Lee. It's really not that great a show - but probably has one of the best soundtracks on tv right now.

I do like Eureka... I'm just like 3 seasons behind on it. I wanted to get caught up because I was excited that Felicia Day will have an extended guest spot on it.
