I feel the same way about Whitney, I loved her on the roasts and such, but they seemed to have dumbed down her comedy for TV to try to make her appeal to the masses. They've playing the V card and trying to make her a hot chick that is funny instead of a funny chick who is hot. (I don't think she's the hotest but well you know.) It's like they are trying to make her the next Chelsey Handler (Who drives me fucking nuts with her tired act). That show just seems tired and unimaginative full of the same stale oblivious hot girl jokes.
I love Zoey but I fear they did the same thing to her in "The New Girl" probably won't watch that either, except I think it is from the same people as How I met your Mother? So it might have a chance.
Don't know what 2 broke girls is?
Person of Interest seems like it could be good but haven't seen it. There is just something about the production of it that CBS does that I don't like, they do it with other shows like Numbers, CSI, Criminal Minds, that sort of slow dark gritty... cookie cutter BS. Criminal Minds is the only show of the bunch that I can watch. It's amazing.
And I AM PUMPED for new Boardwalk.
Completely agree regarding the hot chick who's funny vs. funny hot chick. And actually, I think Whitney owes her exposure to Chelsea, as I believe she's been a regular on Chelsea Handler... (I could be wrong about that).
The New Girl was also kind of "meh." I think it has a little potential, but it reminds me a little too much of "Happy Endings" (which also stars Damon Wayans, Jr.) and is a far superior show in my humble opinion. My biggest fear is that Fox won't give it the time it's going to need to really find it's feet and the development of the assumed/implied relationship between her and the one of the roommates which, if done properly could really make the show more interesting.
2 Broke Girls is the new sitcom with Kat Dennings about the poor girl and rich, Paris Hilton type of girl who (through some convoluted reasons involving the rich girl's Dad being embroiled in a ponzi-scheme) happen to find themselves working together at a shitty diner in the Bronx. Whitney Cummings developed the show for CBS. Another one that might have some potential, if they take it out of the "live-audience" laugh-track format and stop getting so damn predictable.
I will give CBS some credit, while I don't care for Two and a Half Men, I think they did a great job with just how they replaced Charlie Sheen... even if Ashton Kutcher is just playing an older version of Kelso.
With Person of Interest, had the dudes from Lost not been behind it and Jesus and Ben Linus in it - I don't think it would even interest me. Really hoping they put this on On Demand so I can catch the first ep.
Never got into Boardwalk, more because I never caught it early on. I hear good things, but have so many other things I'd like to watch.
