Sorry to trump your rambling but....

DEXTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

and Homeland shows great promise.

I am going to start watching the BSG prequel series Caprica today (although it only lasted one season).

They are also coming out with another prequel series in 2012, "Blood and Chrome". That Centers Around Adama and his experiences in the first Cylon war.

Although the series wouldnt have been what it is without the ultimate result, They kinda screwed themselves out of making a franchise of the "this" galactica crew. I'm not sure if these "immidiate" prequel routes are the way to go to attract an audience, it failed with Star trek: Enterprise.

I personally think the best way to go is either a Knights of the old republic esque jaunt to the exodus of Kobol. Or the hinted ultimate repetition and set a series in the future when the humans on earth make the same mistakes.

I mostly glossed over your BSG post because you said it has spoliers and we are still in the middle. I didn't even know there were prequels...

Yeah yeah, dont read my first post if you dont want to get spoiled, but yes, available on netflix also is the single season of caprica. Which takes place shortly before the first cylon war, I havent seen any episodes yet, but the premise surrounds the creation and I assume ultimate rebellion of the cylons. the main characters are Joe Adama (Adama from BSG's father) and some greystone dude who created the cylons.

Then I read about a new prequel series set to premiere in 2012 that will cover the first Cylon war from William Adama's perspective called Blood and Chrome. Who the creators say they are going for a "hurt locker" feel.

Anyway, back to my unrelated yet related post...

DEXTER!!! started last night and it's going to be another great one, they really really get into religion this season, at least that's how they make it look after last night and the new guest star killers are COLIN HANK AND EDWARD JAMES OLMOS!!!!!

See I told you I would connect them.

Arrested Development is coming back for an abbreviated season followed by a movie. Awesome. Now I have to go and rewatch the rest of them because I don't think I've seen them all the way through.

HAH... I posted the same thing on facebook earlier. 10 episodes, then the movie. Awesome to have it back, unfortunately it means it really will come to an end.

Maybe they can somehow find a way to bring Firefly back as well. I know they ended it with a movie, but there's so much that went unexplained. Only reason I mention Firefly is because it falls into the same category as Arrested Development as it seemed to become more popular after the show went off the air.

The more I think about bringing back Firefly, the more I'm against it. Too much of the cast is gone, too much has happened to the individual actors to make it even possible.

With that said, if anyone could figure out a way to do it... it would be Joss Whedon.

I'm still amazed SyFy hasn't picked up the rights and made it a big budget show and make it their flagship show.

My favorite teams
  1. Portland Timbers
  1. Chicago Blackhawks
So Kutcher is an older Kelso...wow fail. Well that show is now dead to me. Sheen made that show funny.

Anyway moving on. Boardwalk Empire was a solid episode. The one thing with Boardwalk is that it moves at a snails pace. I am not complaining but I know some people that couldn't watch it because of it. Terra Nova was alright but the BS with the Colonel's son makes me think they are trying to rip off Lost and if it gets too Lost-like I might quit watching. Pan Am was a pretty good, I can't figure out which direction that show is trying to go but I'll keep watching for now. BTW when did Christina Ricci become hot? Seriously when? I never got the memo?

Are you kidding? Seeing the first Addams Family as a kid did it for me (and for the record, she's only a year younger than I). Sleepy Hollow? Prozac Nation? Bless the Child? Black Snake Moan and Monster were a slight drop-off, but when she went back to the tried-and-true formula of dark hair/pale skin she redeemed herself.

As for new shows, I tried to watch Terra Nova and was throughly unimpressed. It was like Earth 2 meets Juriassic Park without the historical accuracy.

I got through 45 minutes on On Demand and gave up. It's sad, because this SHOULD be a good show, but isn't.

The problem is, its still a risk. You know what happens when shows like this become legend after cancellation, it is almost as if it can only go down from there. i.e. the fans expect so much its bound to disappoint although it might not. I think even more so if you try to revive a recent show.

But speaking of people becoming hot. When did Lucy Lawless become such a fox. I NEVER thought she was hot on Xena, she friggin aged like a fine wine though, in Spartacus and BSG she was smokin.

I downloaded it off on demand, guess I won't bother now. My wife says that PanAm is supposed to be better? But that didn't appeal to me at all.. I guess either did Playboy club but I thought I would give it a shot.

The Playboy Club already got the axe. Which sucks it seemed like a decent show that after a few episodes might have really hit its stride.

Hmmm. . .sounds suspiciously like the ole "we buy it for the articles" meme.

Actually, besides reading that it's pretty much utter shite I have also read that it was shot in Chicago so on that note even as a non-viewer I feel bad for the local production businesses and workers who just lost some good contract work. It's never good for the Chicago film/TV trade as well as Chicago city revenues when that shit happens.

As for me and TV, I have been recording and thoroughly enjoying Ken Burns' Prohibition on PBS. Two episodes down and one more to go tonight. Last night's got into detail about Chicago's ruthless role in the whole disaster. Good stuff. . .like the booze they chronicle, heh.

No in all seriousness I seen some potential there, I mean it started out average at best but I think once the writing hit a groove itd be better. A lot of shows suck for the first 4 episodes.

While the Playboy show didn't look good to me either, I too feel for the local crews who will suffer because of it's cancellation.

And I'm thinking I'm gonna wait for rental/dvd for the Ken Burns thing (mostly because I don't know when I'd catch it from the beginning)... the Redeye gave it a really good review that highlighted Chicago's role in the doc.

Unfortunately most shows only get 2.
