Dreger said that it'll take a 1st and a top to pry Fisher away from the Sens.

Well, personally I would stick with 'pass' -as in order to be of any value that guy would have to stick past this season, and in order for that to happen, then salary has to be going back Ottawa's way from Chicago.

This deadline is a bit of a tough call, because, unlike in prior prior years ( say Pre-Toews/Kane seasons), the team can reasonably expect to be in the mix next season when the cap situation may not be so tough (those bonuses on both Kane and Toews were murder on the depth). The team, at the same time, is not completely out of it this season (in terms of maybe having a shot at making the playoffs). . . -so I would think, that the team is not a seller no matter what (although what they have to move, it really doesn't matter so much anyways ... just role players for the most part ... unless someone just had to have Turco.).

So they might be in a position where if they do make a trade it would have to be with a view for the future as opposed to just working on a rent-a-player like in other seasons.

I suppose I also expect Boynton to probably retire after the season (he nearly did before this one) - - - and I'm only mentioning this for the sake of which potential lineup vacancies need to be addressed.

Maybe it isn't so critical to make any move at all, unless someone wants a Scott, a Turco, I doubt a Stalberg (but why not)... maybe even a Bolland (but if there is no center depth in the system, or as potential (and obtainable) UFA's -maybe not Bolland.

Personally I wouldn't worry too much about 2010-11 -it probably doesn't matter so much.

That Fisher deal scares me, he fits that Nashville system so perfect

he is a good player.

I think we will do all of our dealing way before the deadline. I dont see the hawks going for another forward....but i could be wrong.

there are still some small rumors that kane is being shopped for miller, but i do not see that happening.

What a move by Smashville. All they gave up was a first round pick too... They are going to enjoy this guy.

What I've been saying is, if some of our big contracts start producing mor it will be like making a trade. I really don't see what we could do to improve much given the cap.

the cap will be impossible to get around unless you deal bolland or campbell.

and yes, if hossa is healthy, kane stops dogging it and the defense plays just a bit better with the addition of frolik the team can be dangerous

Theres no doubt the cap is hand cuffing the front office but the core should still be able to win games.

Until his 2-goal game, Kane's Nancy ass play has been killing me. There is no way the Hoss is heathy. Anyone have info on that?
