Anderson to the Senators seems like a weird move.
I think we are going to have a quiet deadline. unless campbell and or bolland get dealt we will not be able to get an impact player IMO. bolland, prospects and or a draft pick could get a return but i doubt it.
Hawks should be looking at NJ D man Andy Green or Colorado's Ryan O'Byrne. Either could probably be had for a few picks or prospects at this point, as it sounds like both teams are rebuilding for next year. The salaries are also cap friendly to the Hawks, and we could really use some help on D going into a push for a playoff seed.
Seabrook will be retained for sure...i would bet my lunch money on it!
Rumors persist about GM Brian Burke being interested in Florida Panthers center Stephen Weiss, but the reported asking price is the two recently acquired first round picks, which is likely too steep of a price for Burke AM 640
Rumors are that McCabe and the Rangers may be happening early Friday
The Sabres are looking for a playmaking pivot, one who can contribute five on five, and on PP, PK. Must have term left on deal. Scouts o'plenty watching Tim Connolly in recent weeks. Teams to watch: PIT, DAL, STL, CBUS, COL, WASH, LA, & MIN.
Flames GM Jay Feaster is looking to acquire a depth defenseman and a top-nine forward to add to his roster before the deadline passes, reports the Calgary Sun. Feaster isn't looking to pay a large sum for a rental player, and isn't expected to give up high draft picks for a short-term fix.
The Dispatch suggests the Blue Jackets want a playmaking center and a puck-moving defenseman, but Howson indicated that "we're just trying to get better."
TFP reported on Wednesday that the Blue Jackets were one of the team to have inquired about Dallas Stars center Brad Richards, while Florida's Stephen Weiss and Buffalo's Tim Connolly could also be targets.
On the blueline, Panthers captain Bryan McCabe and rearguard Dennis Wideman, and Carolina's Joni Pitkanen could be on Howson's radar, the Dispatch reports.
The Colorado Avalanche is actively shopping John-Michael Liles, though the paper claims he has not listed the Blue Jackets as one of the 12 teams he would waive his no-trade clause for.
Veteran defenseman Chris Phillips may have rejected the Senators' initial contract offer, but the Ottawa Sun reports the two sides are working towards a new deal. "We've made a proposal that we feel is more than fair," Senators GM Bryan Murray told the Sun. "They came back and talked to me a little differently. We haven't talked (Thursday). I guess we're waiting to get their reaction to what we want to have happen."
Hawks are pretty quiet right now. If the Flames and Jackets, etc. are gong to add I hope Bowman is going to look for help
boynton has been placed on waivers
