It's painful to watch and I cry/whine with the best of them, but the Bears in about 2 or 3 years (barring injuries and major busts via draft), are going to have a team with amazing depth and talent. We will have a team that will be contending for several years.

What I saw today by patch work line ups, was pretty damn amazing and guys actually were trying to compete. Let's give Flus and crew some time. We may have something.

Can you please elaborate on how you came to this conclusion? Im not sure the Bears have shown close to enough to make anyone feel confidently about them having amazing depth and talent in a couple years.

I'm way less confident in Flus and Poles but I am 1000% all in on Fields elevating those around him. The fact he elevated that roster today to a near victory is incredible given the total lack of talent on the field. If he had even a below average NFL supporting cast, he probably wins that game today. It gives me great confidence that even a mediocre roster surrounding him could outperform expectations. If by some miracle they actually get the pieces right around him, the sky is the limit.

While that’s true as it stands but the NFL turns on a dime. Rams, Bucs, Packers, Saints are looking at several years of garbage after years of being NFC Contenders. It’s definitely not likely but who the **** knows?

Fields is just an absolute freak rushing the ball.
I like Flus. Think he has done a great job on defense considering the personnel losses.
Not sure about Poles yet one way or the other. It takes a few drafts to see.

I think what we are seeing is quality coaching on the field. The backups are ready to play. It's been a long time since the Bears had the coaching edge over many opponents.

But that doesn’t have to do with the amazing depth and talent part. If someone wants to isolate this game and say they like how the bears competed in a game they had no business being in, fine. But looking at this season, has this regime shown that the future will be filled with amazing depth and talent? I’d say no. I’m not here to kill anyones joy or anything, I’m just curious how someone got to this point. If anything this upcoming off-season will tell us more.

Good point about the amazing depth and whatever. I missed that. For them to have some amazing year, they would have to be extremely healthy and get all the bounces like the Lions this year. Or like the Bears of 2001. Which is what I don’t want to see

Free Agents on offense are going to want to play with Fields.

Knuckleheads will see the team one year into the future and say it’s not happening. But give them two offseasons and let’s see.

Draft capital and money. And a franchise QB. Don’t underestimate what can be done in two years in the NFL.

Clearly anyone getting dinged up in the NFL is due to what a coach said.

Because most of these guys are back ups and getting valuable game reps, the shock and awe of playing will not be a factor. Plugging them in when we have talented and good starters will only help.

Lack of pass rush and to see our secondary hang with a great group of WRs and play hard. Now imagine that defensive front improved. Fields with actual good receivers and oline

If you watched today's game in isolation, I could see how you could come to that conclusion. But, anything can happen any given Sunday. Just look across to league with the Texans going to OT with Chiefs, Jacksonville beating Dallas, etc.

That's not to say we can't be a really good team. But the defense, and in particular the DLine has been abysmal outside of today. It was a good gane for them today, but was it just a bad game for the Eagles? Did Flus have some inside knowledge of Siriani's scheme considering they both spent time in Indianapolis?

My point is that I have to see more consistent play to think there is a massive coaching impact. M I need to see guys stepping up and playing above their salary to think the coaches are getting the most out of their talent. Right now, the only impact I truly see from the coaching staff is the running scheme. But the frustrating part is that pass protection is equally as bad as the running scheme is good.
