You fix the oline and dline and this team can start competing. Often read bears are bad at the wrong time but next draft and fa looks like a great chance to at least fix the dline. That gets them half way there

I'm way less confident in Flus and Poles but I am 1000% all in on Fields elevating those around him. The fact he elevated that roster today to a near victory is incredible given the total lack of talent on the field. If he had even a below average NFL supporting cast, he probably wins that game today. It gives me great confidence that even a mediocre roster surrounding him could outperform expectations. If by some miracle they actually get the pieces right around him, the sky is the limit.
Today the Texans almost beat the Chiefs. The Jags beat the Cowboys. they are called let down games.

They've lost 7 games by 1 score or less. It isn't like it's out of the ordinary for Fields making the Bears competitive in an otherwise lost season. You can call it a let down game, whatever and that's cool. But it's a Bears board, I'm allowed to be optimistic.

So Bears have played 7 let down games?

The Bears have fielded a competitive team all season. The funny thing is last year @nc0gnet0 would masturbate when Lions lost by 1 score or less and swore the close games meant they were going to compete sooner rather than later.

It's painful to watch and I cry/whine with the best of them, but the Bears in about 2 or 3 years (barring injuries and major busts via draft), are going to have a team with amazing depth and talent. We will have a team that will be contending for several years.

What I saw today by patch work line ups, was pretty damn amazing and guys actually were trying to compete. Let's give Flus and crew some time. We may have something.
Want to believe, but then I see busts Velus and Ebner. I DO believe in Justin Fields so let's keep it rolling for now. Hell of an offseason coming.

last year when the lions had only three wins, i didn't see anyone stating that the Lions were competitive, as a matter of fact, I think the vast majority on here were stating they were trash. But now, in simular circomstances, the Bears are "competitive", and Bears fans are "masturbating" to a QB that throws for a buck fiddy.

Because most of these guys are back ups and getting valuable game reps, the shock and awe of playing will not be a factor. Plugging them in when we have talented and good starters will only help.

Lack of pass rush and to see our secondary hang with a great group of WRs and play hard. Now imagine that defensive front improved. Fields with actual good receivers and oline
we’re on different pages. Never mind.

Clearly anyone getting dinged up in the NFL is due to what a coach said.
Yes, clearly. Or maybe the practices are too hard for these Bears? But i agree with you, words can hurt so much.

That is okay, Ebner is not a need..Evans looks good as a #3 back. VJJ he has one more year to prove it, better call Tiki Barber on ball security.....Also let's not forget finds with Sanborn, LT Jones who keeps improving. Gordon and Brisker arrows are pointing up

Let me play a possibility of offseason FA additions..again possibility

WR: JuJu Smith(FA) which is realistic and gives big body over the middle for Fields. He is playing for 3 mil right now. Meyers from Pat's is out there as well...but I wouldn't know cost...are they both a possibility?

OL: Packers Jenkins, depends if he wants LT money..he plays nearly every position. For me, Conklin is more of a realistic possibility avg top right tackle is 18 mil, coming off injury, we may get him cheaper. Prove it deal. He is 28

DE: Ngakoue, you sign him if u land the 2 DTs listed below, I bet he will land 10+ more sacks if we do(Currently 13 mil a year)

DT: Washington Payne(15 to 18 mil I assume) and Draft Carter Georgia, the pressure up the middle will only make our DE's look good, ask Floyd with Rams what it did for him.

Payne 18 mil
Conklin 18 mil
Schuster 4 or 5 mil
Ngakoue 15 mil

That's about 56 mil....we have 100+. I'm not a CAP Guru....but Johnson needs to be re-signed sooner than later.

I know I mentioned Carter, but the rest is just FA and we have improved immensely.

Sir I'm slow lol....let me re-read ur post

Reference depth and talent. The drop off will not be a "holy ****, season is done, if a starter gets injured and these guys have to hold mantle for a couple of weeks. Fact is, good depth and talent is being created.

I cant be the only one seeing these young low drafted, undrafted guys improving. Or guys like Sanborn undrafted and playing like a 1st or 2nd round pick. Hicks S, Gordon arrow keeps going up, Jones CB,
Blackwell has flashed and looks good on special teams, etc.

We are losing to teams by a possession most games.....that means we compete with vagabonds and lesser talent. Let's u know our soon to be back up talent is not as bad as people think.

I kinda understand why they rolled the dice with Velus in 3 and why he's getting more chances with this roster but why keep playing Ebner ahead of Evans?

The theory being that you have to tear it down before you can build it up.

The tear down portion seems to have been successful, but then, that's the easy part.

What comes next, we shall see.

Ebner is a 6th round pick at a position where we have two quality players sharing time.

If this is your barometer for future success, I don’t know what to say.

Every pick matters! However, it's just his first draft, let's hope he can plug 10 holes this offseason. Just build around Fields is all I really ask!

All things being equal, the 7 1 score or less mark includes a td and 2 point conversion.
Which is the exact amount of losses the Texans have by 8 points or less.

You can be optimistic about it, sure. But the Texans are in the exact same boat with the #1 pick.
The comparison with the Texans is apt.

Just because the Bears have the most CAP, doesn't mean they have the ONLY cap. You still have other teams competing for A grade players, and while these teams have LESS Cap, they also, in many cases, have fewer holes to fill, thus allowing them to more easily overpay on one or two FA's they consider key. So, this narrative that the Bears can sign all the best FA's available is a myth.

Can you read? You were stating it dumbass so the roles are reversed and you are being a hypocrite just as you are claiming Bears fans are hypocrites.

So either you believed what you said last year or you are a hypocrite too. So which is it?
