If this does to South.

The Bears management could have blown the interview.

They could have not wanted to give him full control.

They could not want to pay him 7 million a season.

They may not want to commit to him for 5-6 years, preceding 4.

Or Cutler said he didn't approve.

If Fox wants $7 million a year and full control over 5 years he can take a hike lol.

Good. that wouldnt be blowing it, that would be doing the right thing. Youre so hung up on the idea of Fox now. lol

Anyway, I still want to know who was on Paces list of candidates considering they still havent brought in anyone that wasnt already on the Bears radar before he got the job, though Austin could have been on his list as well. I wonder if there have been any interviews that we dont know about?

With Jason Garrett getting 5 years and 30 what do we think Fox is asking for?

The control thing could be an issue. Most coaches in Fox's stature get a ton of personnel control.

Waiting to interview Quinn on Monday makes sense if that's the reason Fox went back, but they would be playing a dangerous game. What if Atlanta all of a sudden goes after Fox and hires him before the weekend?

I hate this dithering.

I am not hung up on Fox.

I am saying that the interview could have simply gone poorly of Fox did not like what he heard, which is seperate from the money and control possibilities.

I am not writing a blank check and giving him total control.

the way you said the bears may have blown it made it sound like you were suggesting they should.

The nice piece is only 2 coaches have been hired that I have given a shit about, Rex and Bowles, and 1 was added to the list in Fox.

Those hires in the Bay Area are just weird.

What was he making in Denver? I'd just offer to match that over 4 years, maybe add half a million a year to it if it is needed. I don't think we need Fox that bad to just bend over. Admittedly though it isn't my money so I don't care about that, it's the control part, we hired Pace for a reason not to take a backseat to Fox.

I think that they should hire Fox.

But that does not mean they sold him on the Bears and the situation. Not getting him because of something other than his own ridiculous demands would be blowing it for me.

He was making 5.5 million in Denver.

Yeah, hiring a DL coach as HC is crazy.

It's not that far off from Austin if you think about it. Plus it allows the 49ers to keep most of the staff intact or so they hope. It's going to be funny if their DC pulls a Marinelli.

In your very first post you said they may have blown it by not giving into his demands.
