Only because he's cheaper, and the rumors are wrong sometimes.

Example: In 2004, a rumors was that an Aramis Ramirez to Angels trade was to be officially announced in the next few days for a group that included Chone Figgins and 3 others.

A lot of times "done deals" are reported, but subsequently proven false.

The media always blows notes and rumors out of proportion. ALWAYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So you will never know until the team reports but not really. I still belive them.

Lilly will be gone in the next couple of days. Well, he would have too. So he doesn't have to pass through waivers.

I heard that too, and I wouldn't mind that.

Is it supposedly straight up? Or is it Lilly for Happ and another Prospect or Two?

Would the cubs try and resign lilly in the offseason?

Wells, Lilly, Dempster,Happ would be a nice solid starting 4 next year if that would happen. lol

That's what they intended on doing before. I wouldn't be surprised, especially with how much Hendry loves Lilly and will be pained by having trade him.

I guess Cashner would stay in the pen for a next year if that happened, and Gorzelanny probably would too, and then Jackson could start. Cashner could become a starter when Dempster leaves (or Lilly leaves again).

I'd rather have a rotation of Dempster, Wells, Gorzo/Happ and two of Cashner, Jackson, Diamond, or possibly Chris Archer if he's ready.

Crap, I forgot Silva. So Jackson will probably be in AAA, or no Lilly re-signing if they get Happ.

I think it will be hard for the Cubs to sign Lilly because when Lee is gone (to the Yanks, lol), he's the best lefty available and will be a popular player.

The Dodgers have the most interest in Lilly. There trying to move money around to acquire him. If they move money, I have no doubt in my mind, Lilly will be a Dodger.
