Thinking Kane is a douchebag/arrogant has nothing to do with the accusations of sexual assault. I've thought this since after his first couple seasons with the Hawks. I've heard stories over the years from people first hand to confirm it.
My favorite comes from the book "Future Greats and Heart Breaks" while he played for the London Knights during the memorial cup run. Kane, Gagner, and I think Kostistyn had the option of either riding the bus with their teammates to the next game or taking a chartered plane and instead of going with their teammates, they decided to fly.

I mean I get that Kane being labeled a rapist is bullshit, I've been saying that the whole time.... it is very unfair.
But what are you mad about at this point, there is nothing we can do to fix what happened nor the media's treatment of Kane.

That was from their editorial board so it was probably the opinion of roughly 3 or 4 people. Editorial boards offer their opinions on current issues. That's sorta their thing. I doubt any of the people involved in that editorial were the ones "trashing" Kane earlier. This is just a newspaper releasing an opinion on a newsworthy item to get people to read their paper. Seems like it worked.

So, no harm no foul? Sorry, this will never end. Anything but a full confession of a set up will leave a stain on Kane and the Hawks, to the point where some believe he will be moved. I think that would be a tragedy (if in fact he is not charged).
