Are you attempting to make an equivalency between Kane's history of relatively-harmless-though-mildly-embarrassing drunken shenanigans and rape?

I remember when the wealthy, white, entitled, douchebag fratbrotastic lacrosse players didn't deserve the benefit of the doubt, either.

Really? Does every insufferably immature drunk deserve to be falsely accused of rape, or just Kane in particular? A rather interesting flip on the "she was asking for it" argument.
For someone that I think is one of the smartest posters on this website, you are reaching awfully far.

Paternalistic, Quixotic internet slacktivism lets everyone ********** to how morally enlightened they are: What's that Twitter? A woman' says she's been raped by a rich, brotastic athlete?!?! Assemble the Internet Rape Defense Force, so that we may impugn the reputation of a citizen regardless of the evidence! It falls to us to defend the honor of these fair maidens in 140 characters or less, so incapable they are of doing it themselves!

These tediously moralizing do-gooders aren't fighting rape culture. They're not making a tangible difference in the lives of rape victims. They're just stroking themselves. And all the while they're enabling the sick opportunists, like Lena Dunham, mattress-girl, and Rolling Stone, who cause actual harm to the reputation of real rape victims by making it harder for their claims to be believed.

As I'm sure you've read all of the posts made that I think Kane is 100% guilty, I'm sure you can easily make that case about me. Thank God you read the quote I posted.

This^ I would genuinely report this moron to the board of directors of whatever school he's the dean of if I knew where he was dean. No one should be dean with this sort of mentality. You don't belong in that position of power thinking like this.

You're a shit dean then if you can't differentiate between Kane's past and a god damned rape allegation. His past has dick to do with sexual assault or rape. That is like assuming I murdered someone because I was arrested for stealing a lollipop.
You should also read the post to which I was responding.

That's not what I said at all.

Yes it is..

I think of it like this; Many of you know I'm a teacher/dean. When I have students come to me saying they got in a trouble, but they didn't do anything I pull up their disciplinary record. When the records show the kid has been in my office a total of 20 or more times I ask one simple question, "Why should I give you the benefit of the doubt?"

Should anyone, least of all people who have no interaction with him other than watching him on tv, really be surprised he doesn't get the benefit of the doubt?

And I don't feel the least bit sorry for the guy.

So he dosnt get the "benefit of the doubt" because of his past. So if you're not giving him the benefit of the doubt then you're equating drunken foolishness to rape.. that is dumb plain and simple

If you could also provide the post where I said Kane was guilty, I'd appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

Pretty much. I don't get it either. What's wrong with just stepping away? Doesn't signify defeat does it? I guess it does to some people. Pride is a nasty thing sometimes I suppose. Glad I have zero...toaster bath pride is all I need.

I'm just exhausted at this point. Don't even care to argue anymore.

Yep, know her story well. Out partying, leaves with a guy, has sex, claims she said "stop". Didn't fight him off, didn't report it.

This isn't even a he said/she said, it's a she said.

And of course if we don't take her word as gospel, we're "misgynists", right?

She was projecting her guilt on everyone she claims would have judged her - cops, friends, parents, and then blames them for not reporting it.

It would be more believable had she actually reported the reaction she received instead of speculating on what it would have been.

I never accused you of saying he was guilty. Its your stance of lack of "benefit of the doubt" because of his past that my issue is with.

I used to think he did but it doesn't appear so now, then again, No one fucking knows at this point

I think we kind of know. The DA said he released the DNA info to the defense because it could possilby exonerate Kane. DA is going to dot i's, cross t's, but I expect a decsion of GJ or closed case before season starts.

After Kane leads the league in scoring this season, I would consider trading him. He is so small and lives so hard. He looks like he is balding. Unless he starts acting like a captain and taking care of himself, this ride will be over soon. Maradona comes to mind.

If we could fleece a team like Nashville for multiple all-star wings, young players, and draft picks it might be worth it. Not this year though, and let him build his reputation back if he can.

5 teams called us looking for a deal, a steal. No...we don't want that. But if signs the drinking is going to persist I recommend moving him before or around 30 years old.

His summer, age, or the stress...whatever. He didn't look so hot in his press conference.
