Updates to the Kane situation

The problem is that everyone in the world feels a need to pick a side these days, so everyone quickly rushes to judgment one way or the other and entrenches themselves in that camp.

I don't understand what's so wrong with people admitting that they don't have a fucking clue about what happened that night or what will happen with this case. There's nothing wrong with that

I feel like most of us took the position of wait-and-see.... we had at least one person rushing to judge her as a false accuser...

My only gripe was Kane getting labeled a rapist before any evidence was available, before any charges were considered, before a Grand Jury could see anything, before the rapekit was processed.... it was published "Patrick Kane Accused of Rape" and in the public court of opinion that made him a rapist to plenty of people and it made his accuser a slutty gold digger to many people. In a sensitive case like this, nothing should have been announced unless charges were filed.

I think of it like this; Many of you know I'm a teacher/dean. When I have students come to me saying they got in a trouble, but they didn't do anything I pull up their disciplinary record. When the records show the kid has been in my office a total of 20 or more times I ask one simple question, "Why should I give you the benefit of the doubt?"

Should anyone, least of all people who have no interaction with him other than watching him on tv, really be surprised he doesn't get the benefit of the doubt?

And I don't feel the least bit sorry for the guy.

This is literally the dumbest thing I have heard. So because Kane has done some dumb things drinking in the past, then it makes sense he is a rapist? You're talking about one of the most heinous crimes that can be committed. That is as logical as saying someone with a lot of speeding tickets fits the profile of being a murderer..

You realize their defending her because there are meatballs that think and have been saying "well she went to his house at 3am, what did she think was going to happen" and "Kane could have any girl he wants, why would he rape her" type bullshit that's holding back society and also hurting potential woman who are raped from coming forward.

If you cannot see how this type of thought process and all the slandering and slut shaming that is being done to this girl, who we don't even know if she is lying or telling the truth, would prevent other people who are actually assaulted or have been assaulted from coming forward and looking for help, then you are in fact ignorant or Special person.

None of us have said we think Kane did anything; actually we have said let's wait till evidence comes out before we make a judgement. Yet, many here have no problem assuming the girl is a slutty gold digger looking for her pay day. Hopefully nobody on the DA went into this case with that mentality cause if they did, and she was hypothetically raped, she'd have no chance for justice.

So she spun it into a yarn to distract attention away from the case that is circling the drain and redirect it to Evil Patrick Kane Fans.
