Good timing Kane, dummy.
Great, now it's lose/lose. Rapist gets to walk free, victim gets called a money grabbing ho. Think the Hawks can trade him?http://sabres.buffalonews.com/2015/09/08/kane-grand-jury-postponed-sources-say/

He probably means Kane's lawyer is cutting a deal with the prosecution to plead to a lesser charge. How does one "settle" a criminal case?.
You're either indicted or you aren't...settlements are for civil matters.
And your link doesn't work.

All this settlement is going to do is to allow all sides of the argument think that they're theory is true.
Those who believe this is just a cash grab will believe that. Those who believe Kane and his lawyers are throwing money at this problem to make it go away will believe that.
But the only real truth you can glean from a settlement is that you'll never really know what happened.
Will be interesting to see how the Hawks handle it, though.
Did u pass the bar?

Civil settlement that is kept under-wraps (expect for the sieve of unnamed sources), and accuser refuses to follow through on the criminal side....basically throwing the criminal case. Illegal, but tough to prove and probably pretty prevalent.
Interesting that last week it was leaked that this was as close to a "slam dunk" case as you could get, yet the DA was calling everyone from the house that night to the grand jury. He of course only has to call the accuser, and that is generally enough to get an indictment. Why wouldn't you do just that for a "slam dunk" case?
Maybe that report was wrong, then.
Maybe that report was wrong, then.
Possibly. It was leaked from "law enforcement sources close to the case", same as a lot of the BN stories. Also interesting that today's BN article is now calling this an accusation of "sexual assault", and not "rape", as they've reported for weeks.
Both terms have the same meaning, sexual assault was created in hopes victims would be more willing to come forward...sounds better than rape.
