I think it's hilarious that this thread is mimicking the sentiments that I heard on the score this morning. Goff was getting all sorts of twitter and facebook threats for 'now being wrong in the face of this new info'

people were telling him he needs to apologize for 'going after Kaner' and that he better watch his back.

hilarious and disgusting that people are following this case as if it were a sporting event and investing themselves in it so much, to boot.

btw, Goff and most at the Score never 'went after kane' at all, but rather, went after people that attacked the credibility of the accuser. Guess those people may turn out to be 'right' that the accuser did not in fact get raped, but what is it that they win? A drunken cab ride with their favorite hockey player?

Meanwhile, Julie Dicaro can't go to her work today because of threats on twitter.

Congrats Blackhawks fans!

That made me step back and question why I like sports.
It's one of those "Maybe it's time to hang up the hockey fan" thing and take up Scrabble.

**** you. You're saying Kane's reputation should be taken into account here, but not the accuser's. That's a double standard.
Did the accuser have a public history of things similar to Patrick Kane?

Interesting comments last night on sportstalk, one of which stating nobody thinks poorly of Ben Roethlisberger...accused twice of sexual assault before finally getting married. Kane needs a wife.

And then that idiot on ESPN, think the show is second opinion?. Him and a few others suggesting Kane shouldn't play is ludicrous.

Taking himself out of the game by some mutual agreement with Hawks brass is akin to an admission of guilt.

Wish this shit would just go away, I'm sure Kane agrees.
Is this a troll or are you serious?
I took a trip to Milledgeville, Georgia, and trust me-- there are some angry people at Big Ben.

That was wayyyyyyy too fast. Go back in and wipe.
I know...it was glorious. No need to return. I even used cottenelle moist.

This house is clean.

I think he was referring to the civilized world. :marshmallow:

She's obviously been drunk in public, and she allegedly accosted the bass player from Death Cab For Cutie.
Thanks for sharing.

But I still fail to see how absolves Kane's past.

Boom! Right there!

The general public did more damage than any good during this entire mess. I said it before and I will say it again. If I were in Kanes shoes I would be pissed off at my fans for escalating a horrible personal matter into a game on line. A game which played out into other people getting death threats! Kanes name is now attached to that. Complete fucking disgrace.

And for the record: I have a feeling he's not the only one who would repeat that answer either.
I think of it like this; Many of you know I'm a teacher/dean. When I have students come to me saying they got in a trouble, but they didn't do anything I pull up their disciplinary record. When the records show the kid has been in my office a total of 20 or more times I ask one simple question, "Why should I give you the benefit of the doubt?"

Should anyone, least of all people who have no interaction with him other than watching him on tv, really be surprised he doesn't get the benefit of the doubt?

And I don't feel the least bit sorry for the guy.

You would think for how tight the Blackhawks run their PR machine that they could issue a "statement" from Kane in this regard, signed for press release so he doesn't have to try it in front of live cameras.
A collective "chill the **** out" bulletin.

Then again these fans are hopped up on Maxwell Street Polish, Old Style and bad Bears football.
A press release of this kind would probably create a riot from Hot Dougs all the way down to Honky Tonk BBQ.
