Sample size lol, but yes, it is important to note his new changed approach we've seen lately, but that doesn't mean anything for this years ASG

I'm too lazy to read through the last few pages but I feel pretty confident that it's going in circles

Dewey's argument:  :homer: CO, claims you agree with him and I suck at posting while he uses OBP as the end-all
TCF: Any GM would take Furcal, he has one before and Castro would **** up in big games. Cubs fans need to get used to it as Sox get snubbed all the time.

Us: Castro>Furcal in everything but OBP, .377 SLG is more pathetic than Castro OBP, 22 points higher OPS (which they say is nothing), better D

Dabs: It is pointless to argue about who is going to get picked in a popularity contest. Many Cubs fan overrate what Castro does and many non-Cubs fan underrate what he does.

We all know WHO is going to get picked, but who SHOULD be.

Ah. Well, we've already established that Castro is on a crappy team and Furcal's team is closer to contention (although the Cards are floundering right now after losing back-to-back against the Pirates) so there's little chance Castro was going to make it due to popular vote anyway. The only thing he has left are his merits and the one-per-team rule and basically the only reason he'd get in would be the latter. That's pretty much all you can hope for at this point. Castro's improving but he's not elite enough to be a no-brainer All-Star in my opinion.

D3A: Cubs dont deserve an All Star but have to have one. Castro is the guy Cubs will want to make it so they can say future is bright with having a 22 y/o SS being 2 time All Star

It shouldn't be about the team deserving one d3a, it should be about the players, but never will be.

Yup...with Dempster out and Soriano lower on the NL OF depth chart, Castro becomes the logical choice for Cubs rep.

And since he and three or four others are better than the starter.

Nobody ever said fan votes were logical, but since they only need two SS not including the designated utility guy, that still leaves Castro on the outside looking in. That's mostly what I've said.

Three SS make it

I think it's two at each position (one starter, one backup) plus the utility guy. There's only a 34 man roster and about 14 of them are pitchers, plus three catchers.
