He either sucks or gets hurt. Basically the same story for the last 3 seasons.

Disagree. He doesn't suck, he's had OPS's over 800 every year except 09, because he was injured. I doubt we see him get injured again, simply because he rarely uses his legs as a weapon these days.

Nope. Castro has more years of team control and isn't getting anywhere close to his peak.

And we are Castro Homers. :smug:

Hanley is the best SS in the game. You can be a homer all you want, but that's just Special person.

Hanley, King Felix, Longoria, and Lincecum are a few I can think of that are no-brainers.

The :smug: didn't inform you of the lack of a serious nature in my post?

There is a lot I would trade Castro for.

I wouldn't even put Castro in the top 100 players I would want in the MLB.

Now, or at his peak?

He doesn't suck
Relative to his contract and what he was supposed to be when he got here. Yes he does.

His last three seasons:
.280 29HR's 75RBI .344 OBP
.241 20HR's 55RBI .303 OBP
.258 24HR's 79RBI .322 OBP

He hasn't even been in the top 10 in OPS in anyof the last three year or at anytime in his career. He doesn't steal bases anymore(basically since he left Washington) His last three seasons he has virtually no Gray ink to speak of.

Soriano has been bad/sucked for the last three seasons and has at times slowed this team to a crawl. He got hot a few times and helped carry the team but he hasn't been nearly the player he was supposed to be and injuries and age are quickly eroding his skill set.

Especially in 2009, he had a 0.0 WAR.

A team full of 2009 Sorianos would be the worst team in MLB history then. How much is a team of replacement players (0.0 WAR) supposed to win again? Like 23 games?

Yeah whats sad is fielding is really the only thing he has any gray ink in, and I am not even sure if that counts.

He was up there for doubles last year. I wouldn't go as far as he has sucked because his wRC+ has only been below 112 one for us, but yeah he hasn't been all that great.

Except for 2009. He sucked that year.

He sucks for his price tag. Otherwise he is just an average player.

Otherwise, he is average? How do you figure? NL LF OPS Avg. was .771. Soriano had .818. His glove? All LFers suck, he isn't any worse than any of them.
