Way to close to call on the Bolland hit...no way an official could call it while it happens without having a replay to look at and rewind and freeze frame for a half hour. I've been watching it for a while and all I really see is Bollands back hitting Richards chin while his head is down. Did he leave his feet? Maybe a centimeter. No way that can be detected in a live moment situation. Just wasn't clear enough. Maybe if Richards laid on the ice and milked it then the league would take a look,,but Richards is a real hockey player.</p>

The NHL network has been blowing this "Kings are going to beat down the Hawks with their physical grinding play" smoke. What will they say now?  Having back to back games doesn't give them much time to come up with a new theory. I know its only one game but I can't see LA having enough offense to win this series.</p>

The refs making the 2 calls on Pancakes for breakfast Penner seemed like they are possibly trying to cut down on the after the whistle garbage around the net and other cheap shots. Although looking for consistency in officiating is about as reliable as looking for an honest politician.</p>

variable, youre worse than eddie on trying to be anti homer. He barely even left his feet (one came up cuz of lost balance, the other really didnt even leave the ice).

that was a good, clean hockey play even in the new NHL. Crouching happens when, yknow, youre fucking skating. He didnt lunge whatsoever. Not even Richards or the Kings really took exception, no chirping. A good, hard hitting team like them knows how to respect a good hard hit even against themselves.
