Kind of like...god forbid Q knows what he's doing with his roster when he sits a player. He's won a couple of games in his lifetime, and this thing called the Stanley Cup

No problem at all with Q's decision. Stalberg, shut your fucking mouth and play. Dumb ass.

My guess? Barring injury, game 5 was the last time we ever see Stalberg in a Hawk uniform.

I don't have much to add, other than I've lost the majority of my voice. It was a fun night to be an old Hawks fan.

And I hope/expect Stalberg to be pissed off to the point where he should be skating/working on a whole new level.

I know he and the Capt. were tight in past years, but I don't know if that's still valid this year. If so, that might do more damage to player chemistry. Also, he's grown as a player. (slowly but surely). When the true details come to light, I might be convinced.

The Howard chant at 3-1 was priceless! The entire building was doing it and he DEFINITELY noticed it!

SEABROOK with the save of the game! That save should have gotten him a STAR! He doesn't make it, it's 3-2 there with 4 minutes left.

It was loud on my surround sound.

Those two goals woke the crowd up.

I guess only if I had said the Hawks would lose the game would something like this statement make sense as...anything. No one said that. Like I said, I hope whatever Q was trying to prove "worked" in his eyes and plays him the next game.

No, not because they called up a few rookies. They're just playing better than they did in the regular season. Not sure what to attribute the change in their game to, all I know is they're being stronger on the puck, more aggressive, more assertive, etc.

Think I haven't heard the whole "Wings are old" bit before? I didn't realize that 5 guys was "half the team," sunshine.

I'll stay away from you, though "asshole" isn't the word I'd use. "Douchebag" seems more appropriate - after all, I wasn't trolling, I was looking for a civil conversation.

4-1 Hawks. Where are you Kronwalled55?....or are you just going to show up when they win. I can smell trolls from miles away.

God did they just turn the switch on or what...if it wasn't for Howard, this game is 8-1 Hawks, over the stonger on the puck, more aggressive, more assertive, ect...WINGS. I think that Bolland fight really woke up the Hawks. I was in tears last night when Doc Emrick flubbed when he was trying to say the Wings players name....alb abl aaaaahhhhbl ....ahhh what ever!...LOLOLOLOLOL!!!!!!!!!!!!! even Eddie had a chuckle, anyone catch that in the third?

Yea, I did. Soon after that there was a dead puck, and before they cut to a commercial Doc said something along the lines of "There's finally a break in the action...because I know I can use a breather." Then you can here Eddie laughing in the background.

DO you really see that? as up and down has been mostly down, he still brings a deadly amount off speed to the game. I don't know.

Q now denies all reports that he benched Stalberg for complaining about his lack of PP time.

"Stalberg knows why he was bench," says the man with the stache.

Chicago Blackhawks coach Joel Quenneville denied reports that he benched Viktor Stalberg for Game 1 of the Western Conference semifinals against the Detroit Red Wings because the winger questioned his lack of ice time on the power play.

"First of all, that story is 100 percent inaccurate," Quenneville said Thursday at the United Center. "Viktor didn't play, he knows the reasons why. It's nothing to do with anything about our conversation. It was strictly nothing to do with that at all. That situation wasn't even addressed."

Stalberg played in 47 of 48 regular-season games and was a mainstay on the power play until the Hawks' first-round series against the Minnesota Wild. During practices leading up to Game 1 against the Wings, Stalberg did not skate on any of the ' top four lines and was a healthy scratch during the Hawks 4-1 victory Wednesday night.

The Tribune first reported that Stalberg was being punished for questioning his role on the power play, citing a source.

"When we're talking about players that played most of the year, this year we had some tough decisions as far as who plays and doesn't play," Quenneville said. "That's the situation we're in. We had to make some tough decisions and with (Dave) Bolland coming back I thought we had progressed in the last couple of games in the Minnesota series and somebody had to come out. You look at every situation (and) you have a good argument for a number of guys."

I believe him. Honestly doubt that any player would complain, or is dumb enough to complain, about ice time at this point in the season.

Other than the GWG Stalberg helped set up in game one vs the Wild, he has been pretty quiet. Q can easily make an argument to sit him for Bolland — hell, he could have made the argument for Saad too, but I think hes doing a good job with Saad by letting him play through this rut. At the same time, it's clearly not a decision based on talent, because if that were the case then he would play and Carcillo would sit. I think it's a smart move either way, Q can't lose this hand. Best case, Stalberg comes back with something to prove and if he catches fire that would give this team an unbeatable amount of options. Worst case, he skates around like he did in the Minnesota series and opens up some space for Bickell to score goals. Q is playing with potential right now, chances are he wins either way.

Exactly, his ATOI may only be 14 minutes, but it's the same as it has been every year except for the first one he came to the hawks. Only thing I can think of is that because it's a contract year he's upset that he's not able to get on the Ice more and put up better numbers to try to cash in. Or that maybe he purposely thinks the team is holding him back so that he can't cash in? I don't know but as we found out last time around just winning the cup cashes everyone in. He did have a drop off in minutes in the first round of the play offs, both from the season average and the playoff average last year, but I thought he was actually showing that he had more than just "go fast" in his repertoire.
