I'm really looking forward to this series. Our goal tending and PK is tops in the league. Roll the best D-pairings in the league. Roll 4 forward lines that can score and are tough to play against. (Just overlook the mediocre PP). Hawks in 5.

Will be nice to see the Wangs off with a swift kick and a don't let the western conference door hit you in the ass.

And welcome Kronwalled.

Didn't miss Stalberg tonight but I can tell you the Wings already looked slow so I wouldn't mind him back asap.

Hawks had some lulls in their game over the course of the contest but found their step towards the end which was total domination, hadn't Howard had such a good game the score would have been even more lopsided. Despite scoring one on the PP, it still needs to improve. The PK was perfect as usual. Nice save by Seabs on the shot that bounced off the crossbar. Crawford wasn't really tested but did the necessary saves. The lack of Stålberg wasn't really noticeable, the third line still managed to put pressure in the O-zone as we've seen many times this season. Bolland had a relatively alright game and had that playoff snarl already, which is nice to see. I could see that it might take a game or two to get into the stride of things however. I'd really like to see Toews start getting some points before it becomes a factor, as it is now the contributions have been pretty evenly spread out but one of these days you'll need to have your leaders stepping up and scoring those crucial goals.

I am sure the Wangs will return to game 2 with a better effort, but so will the Hawks and if they can keep the gap in gameplay the same they should sort out this series without much concern. Just stay healthy and keep improving what they've been doing so far and they'll be golden.

The only time the 'Hawks struggled in this game was between Hossa's and Brunner's goals. Other than that, they were large and in charge. Howard was outstanding tonight. Better than Lundquist could ever be at this point with the same onslaught.

I think too many people are overestimating the Wings. This is not the team that blew away the Hawks in 2009.

They had a few moments tonight, but they didn't have the D to shut down the Hawks for periods like Minny did.

Babcock's plan of splitting up Zets/Dats failed.

Pure domination from the beginning.

Just wish Toews would've finished the early chance himself.

Bolland was stoned by Howard on the breakaway-- if he elevated it was his.

Seabrook's save on the post was key + Craw is proving himself more every game.

I got last minute tickets from work for free... I missed it... what did Abdelkader do to Bolland in the 1st period to prompt that scuffle?

I did see that Sharp got his ankle slashed hard skating behind the net... is that what Bolland was pissed about?

Mr. Softy with a good game.

Man Hawks fans are really dumb at the games.

Also... LOVE LOVE LOVE the loadup on first PP unit. Watching them set up from the 300 level was fucking bad ass!!!

Was Kane on the point for the first couple PPs?

Kane, Sharp, Toews, Hossa, Keith = DROOL

I just wish Bolland would have kept on skating towards the net and took the shot. He has the skill to do it, and slowing down gave Howard the opportunity to assess the situation, or lack of another attacker.

Just agitators being agitators. It was a waste of 30 seconds of stoppage.

I would rather the team overestimate them and win in 4-5 than underestimate them and lose.

No I really mean it... the people next to me were great but man the idiots behind us chanting "HOWWWWWWWARD" after he had given up 1 goal on 33 shots... cmon.

One guy kept yelling "SHOOOOT IT!!!!!" when there was no lane... another guy kept yelling "HIT HIM!!! HIT HIM AGAIN!!!!" at the worst times. It was unbearable.

Also... every penalty or non-penalty called made me feel like I was watching a game with Nucks fans. So dumb.

And believe me, Rangers fans are worse than Hawks fans. It's like a walking mental hospital full of bipolar people. AND I say that without ever being to a game at MSG.

Welcome to the new atmosphere of the UC.

I said the same thing when the "Howard" chants were happening when it was 2-1. At that point it was 1 bounce away from being a tie game and giving the Wings a bit of confidence.
