He came in at about 6'5" and probly had fewer hits than Pat Kane. Other than that he did score a little bit.

Maybe just stop thinking about it then...save the self torture?

If Toews doesn't lead the way....the Hawks wouldn't stand a chance - no matter who they play.

Going into any playoffs, if someone was to say Toews wasn't going to have a goal in the first 2 series, what would anyone think the Hawks chances would be? Time for Capt. Serious to be Capt. Produce a Goal.

Hustling and trying hard with no results...is good for Frolik, Kruger, Shaw (all who have dented the net) - but not for Toews. He needs to be a difference maker.

I'm going to get blasted for it but meh whatever, ever since Toews went down last year Kane has been the leader. Toews is a shell of himself. Now I say this as a huge Toews fan but right now I'd rather see 88 with the C (not saying that is ever happening but just spitballin')

It really is hard for me not to, its been in my head since we lost. I am one of those fans that can't sleep, eat during the games, It really sucks, I take it really hard. I guess I am one of those hard core fans....thats just want to see us win it again before its all said and done. During the playoffs I am not my self when they lose. My wife hates it during this time cause she knows what I go through. Im quite and moody. I get headaches, ect. Toni, knows exactly what I go through.

SO many times I have seen this team and thought, wow they are better then 2010's team. And times like the past two games, I have thought wow 2010 was soooo special not even close to this team.

Yeah...you left yourself in the line of fire on that one with Team Toews.

I wouldn't say "shell of himself" - he was at a ppg this year (first time in his career) with his best +28...albeit in a shortened season.

I agree that Kane is the constant offensive threat this team has...and it gets taken for granted. It's like...when Toews has the puck, he's dangerous. When Kane has the puck - all 5 Hawks on the ice are dangerous. People who thought Kane was expendable....are sorely mistaken. Players like him don't come around often and he is just as important as Toews.

Kane got grief for last year's low point total (63) and some claimed he was regressing, the center role hurt him, he was lazy/out of shape...

But the truth is - he started the season with no camp/after wrist surgery.

His points were down - only on the PP (where he had only 12 pts). The previous 4yrs he averaged 29pts on the PP. Those "17" more points he was down would've put him at 80pts. His ES points last year was his 2nd highest behind the Cup year.

Here's what I would do...to get Toews going....

Sharp - Toews - Kane - (If Kane can't get Toews going...no one will)

Saad - Shaw - Hossa - (Shaw would bring grit and net prescence to this line that Toews does - and Hossa needs to carry the line. Step up "Hoss"..you're making 7.9mil this year. Datsyuk vs Shaw may scare some, but Saad/Hossa should be good enough defensively to offset this...as well as having Keith/Hjarll on the ice)

Bickell - Bolland - Stalberg - (Time for "playoff Bolland" to do something. He's been pathetic all year. If he's hurt - don't dress him and put Handzus here. No excuses Davey boy...3gms, -2, and 10 PIMS in the playoffs. This may be the last games of him in a Hawks jersey)

Smith/Morin - Kruger - Frolik - (Morin will get greasy around the net - but I worry about his speed in a playoff game. Smith may be suited a bit better, but he sometimes gets turnover happy...bad matchup vs him may hurt the team. Hence why Handzus/Carcillo usually get the nod here which some hate to admit/don't understand that. But....I'd consider one of those 2)

yeah i fear the 2 (3?) concussions have hurt toews and he might be a shell of himeself, too. But then he just keeps proving me wrong. And i thought the hawks force concussed players to play and not ever heal?

Yet no one has mentioned our best second line center ever...if he had been a 2nd line center and not Roenick's replacement at 1st line center....#13/26/36 Mr. Alexei Zhamnov!!!!

[Derail: Holy Crap! The 2003-04 Flyers had a ton of former and future Hawks on it! Roenick, Amonte, Handzus, Zhamnov, Sharp, Vandermeer, Kim Johnsson, Eric Weinrich, Mike Peluso, Peter White, Jeff Hackett...]

He was getting ripped apart by the hockey media up here yesterday and today. Everyone thinks he has lost his focus to the point where its rubbing off on the rest of the team. I think they were a bit harsh on him but at the same time it sure does look like things are starting to spill over onto other players. They also tore Hossa a new asshole for being MIA.

Panger was going a bit crazy on Toews saying if he has a problem with the hacking he is taking in font of the net then he should simply get the **** away from infront of the net and he can take some of the blame for wanting to be part of the crap that's got him frustrated. LOL Panger...lol goalies. I see what he was trying to say though.
