I believe they are closer than that. They out played us and Colorado for long stretches but died on the horns of some lapses. They are a heck of a team, IMO. Really hate Matt Cooke though. He never cleaned up his game as people keep repeating.
I also thought the refereeing was very inconsistent last night. 2 big non-calls that come to mind are Toews being slashed loud enough that you could hear it on TV while on his first period breakaway (just before Cooke tried to break Oduya's neck) and the slash breaking Bickell's stick. There were others too...quite one-sided IMO.

Yea, I mean they took us to 6 and into overtime, but that was not a Stanley Cup Champion caliber team. had they advanced to the WCF they would have been very hard pressed to advance. Bryzgalov ended up being ok, but honestly he saw about 15 good scoring chances after game 2, in the end they will need goaltending next year.

At this point Suter has been playing 30 minutes a night for 2 years. He is in his prime so he shouldn't be slowing down, but if they could bring someone else in and bring his minutes down to the 25 minute range it'd likely do him wonders. Granlund and Niderreiter are two very good looking young players.
