Obviously the Bears have to upgrade the receiver position. That doesn't mean they have to take MHJ though.

Free agency class will obviously thin down but Higgins Ridley, or Pittman would be great additions. And the draft class is pretty stacked. If they end up to with MHJ that's cool but there are other options.
This is a great year to draft a WR. It’s also nice to have one of your stud WRs in a rookie contract instead of having two on bigger deals.

Part of the problem with that, is I think that MHJ is going top 3. There are rumors that the Cardinals are going to stick with Murray due to not being able to free themselves of his contract quite yet. And they really want Harrison. Rumors, but it could be true. 🤷‍♂️

If the Bears pick #1 and #5, do you take a WR with the #1 overall pick when there are QBs that could be taken with that pick? I'm not sure he'd still be there at #5.
Trade down with pick #1 and get a shitload of picks, giving the Bears two #1 picks again in 2025. Draft Nabers who is also elite and go from there.

I still trust Biggs more than the average CCS poster.

Doesn’t mean he’s 100%. No one is

Personally I probably take a WR in the first and also mid round. Scott needs to be the 4th WR at best and VJJ needs to move to RB or be cut.

Just in general, the best passing teams don't rely on later round draft picks at WR and stock up with 1st and 2nd rounders.

For the top 12 passing offenses this year, six of them have a mix of 1st and 2nd rounders as their top two WR targets, and two (MIN and DAL) have two 1st rounders leading their group.

Only 3 of the top 24 WRs on those 12 teams are 5th rounders (and none are 6th or later). And of those 3, two are All-Pros (Tyreek Hill and Stefon Diggs), and the other is some dude on the Chiefs, who are still in the top 12 but having their worst passing season since 2017.

Meanwhile for the 12 worst passing offenses in the NFL, 8 of their top 24 receivers are 5th rounders or later, and 5 were undrafted free agents. And only two have a combo of 1st and 2nd rounders as their top 2 WR options (DEN who has improved significantly this year, and CLE who has a disaster QB situation), and none have two 1st rounders as their top targets.

So you can look at those top 12 passing offenses and say they have better QB situations than the bottom 12, but on the whole they're also committing resources to support those QBs at a much higher rate than the other teams.
