I'm still waiting for someone to explain this for me.

2008 Cutler was sacked ONCE every 56 passing attempts. Cutler was sacked 11 times & had 616 passing attempts that year.

2010 Cutler was sacked ONCE every 8 passing attempts. Cutler was sacked 52 times & had 432 passing attempts that year.

Please tell me more, about how Cutler was surrounded by good enough offensive talent in 2010.

I think the problem with these sort of arguments, is that you're right. But most of the people arguing against you are right, too. The blatant hate is dumb. But Cutler hasn't had good production much with this team.

Basically, with the trainwrecks that this team has been through in the Lovie and Trestman eras with Cutler, it's stupid to blame him for it all. And it's stupid for him to be virtually blameless for it all.

Annnnnnd it's stupid to keep arguing about it. :D

Despro, I would have been right there with you until last yr; it's time to abandon ship and face the fact dude is a mediocre QB, and worse yet, his arm looked mediocre last yr. He isn't young and hasn't had an easy career so his body is probably older physically than his chronological age. I don't think Cutler got a really fair look earlier on in his Bears stint and Angelo and Co. were Special person to sign him and then not provide him with the OL/WRs he needed to be successful. That's over now, and it is time to assess what we have with Cutler realistically and move on.

I am somewhere in the middle of where you are and where he is on Cutler. I think he can still have a decent couple of years but the ship has sailed regardless. What this team surrounded him with year after year was nothing short of a crime early on.

At this point it really doesn't matter how he plays, when you consider how this Franchise wasted a young talent like Cutler when they traded for him. Instead he is now 32 years old and playing out the end of his career on a shit team that is likely to suck overall, regardless of his play.

Well said & thankfully the end is near for Cutler Tenure in Chicago. Hopefully the next QB in line wont be treated like a sacrificial lamb upon arrival.

I love how people always revert to Cutler "good" season in Denver when he was sacked only 11 times. Look a little closer, he wasn't very good then either. He got into the PB based in the fact that he threw the ball 600+ times, which in turn was a lot of yards. You don't have to dig deep to see that he was only mediocre back then as well.

For God's sake (and I'm a non believer for the record) why is this thread still here and not the Cutler forum where it rightfully belongs.

I fucking get it...Cutler is the reason the Bears haven't won a super bowl in 30 years. Cutler is the reason all former Bears coaches suck. Cutler is the reason Chicago and all of Illinois is a financial mess. Cutler is the reason Urlacher got old and slow. Cutler is the reason Marshall is a mental case and the Bears had to pay the Jets to take him. And no doubt in my mind Cutler is the reason some of you have to jack-off to pictures of Andrew Luck and Colin Krappermick.

OK...I'm better now....carry on.

Superbowl winners

2014 Patriots - HOF QB
2013 Seahawks - alltime great defense
2012 Ravens - Probowl caliber QB and very good defense
2011 Giants - Probowl caliber QB and very good defense
2010 Packers - HOF QB
2009 Saints - HOF QB
2008 Steelers - Probowl caliber QB and very good defense
2007 Giants - Probowl caliber QB and very good defense
2006 Colts - HOF QB
2005 Steelers - Probowl caliber QB and very good defense
2004 Patriots - HOF QB
2003 Patriots - HOF QB
2002 Bucs - alltime great defense
2001 Patriots - HOF QB
2000 Ravens - alltime great defense
1999 Rams - HOF QB
1998 Broncos - HOF QB
1997 Broncos - HOF QB
1996 Packers - HOF QB

Do I need to go on and on? Without a probowl QB, you need a great great defense. But it is possible.

2013 Seahawks - alltime great defense.....Russell Wilson performed when called upon in that SB. He's the first ever to have a 90 ++ Qr rating in the 1st 3 yrs.
Wilson is head & shoulders above jay.

All we want is for a Qb to lead, have a winning attitude and always give a chance to win, no matter the score. Then they "wont be treated like a sacrificial lamb upon arrival"

So Jay Cutler didn't outplay Rodgers in the 2013 season finale? Would you say that huge loss, was on his shoulders that game? You can hate on Cutler all you want but that doesn't change the fact that the team itself has been bad regardless of who the QB is for most of his tenure in Chicago.

Really there is no sound reasoning as to how he got in the pro bowl over Rivers who not only had far superior stats but overcame a 3 game lead by Denver to take the division title.
