Do you know that Cutler had better stats last year than he did in 2008? Yet we traded for him.

2008: 62.3% 25 TD, 18 INT, 11 sacks (good O-Line) 86.0 Rating
2014: 66.0% 28 TD, 18 INT, 38 sacks (bad O-Line) 88.8 Rating

You're really reaching with this one. His 2014 YPA dwarf his 2008 YPA. Amazing how high percentage passes can inflate your stats

that was the shitbag trestman move trying to show it was the qb not him and he failed to put it all on cutler because everyone could clearly see the system was fail.

But I would think if he had better numbers than his 2008 year he would have been considered for the pro bowl...at least in line to be an alternate

So you don't want to give Fuller credit for interceptions in in consecutive series to put the Bears in SF territory to help them get the win? Wouldn't you say that had a lot to do with the bears overcoming a 20-14 deficit at the time the first int happened?

Don't turn this one on me, I know what you're implying.

Kyle Fuller had a good game and played a part in the team win. It's a team game, something I've said multiple times.

For the people who are still looking for shreds of optimism regarding Jay Cutler's ability to not be the reason the Bears lose games, I'm surprised the 2011 season isn't brought up more often. The 6-game stretch of that season starting with the MNF loss to Detroit is, in my mind, the best Cutler has ever played in Chicago.

The numbers aren't bad, either: 111/183, 1,359 yards, 8 TDs, 3 INTs, 91.1 rating.

Very game manager-like numbers right there. Numbers you can win games with. And with the Bears defense still very much in its dominance under Lovie, it's no surprise that the Bears went 5-1 in that timeframe. Then Johnny Knox slipped on a slant route, Cutler broke his thumb making the tackle that cost him the rest of the regular season, and MARION FUCKING BARBER.

Go find that version of Jay Cutler and get him to line up for the Bears in 2015. I've been waiting for four years, though, so I wouldn't hold your breath.

As have I, but I'm not the one calling Cutler "Captain Comeback"

2008 was his pro bowl year

wasn't that before he came to Chicago and a fanbase that historicly hates their fuckin qb no matter how well he does? pretty sure fan voting counts on pb's as well

Can you care to name me what any of the coordinators Jay has played under: what they are currently doing? I'm not asking for "well, he's a coach killer!" I'm simply just asking what are those coaches doing now? Care to say?

And I for one was pissed when Martz got fired.

pro bowl voting is made up of 3 parts...coaches, players, and fans. so even if the fans didn't give him the vote, either his peers or the coaches don't think he is that good too in order for it to really prevent him from making the pro bowl

Also, he really hasn't done that well in Chicago...he's been quite mediocre, maybe if he played at an above average level the fan-base would hate him less

No, I don't care to say.

My point was that Cutler has had a stretch of QB play that didn't make you hide behind the couch every time he dropped back to pass. Sorry if that's all the optimism I can muster. The last couple of seasons destroyed whatever I'd had left.
