I love waffles but you get them at diners or a breakfast place. Our iron got used maybe 10 times in 30 years, when I learned about this hash brown magic I had to tear apart the kitchen trying to find it. It stays on the counter now, right next to my panini press, a position of honor.

and now I'm going to costco this weekend to pick up a bunch of dehydrated hashbrowns

You are so extra with food but sounds awesome. You seem to use the waffle maker a lot, would you recommend?

Isn't a waffle maker just a panini press that takes an extra half day to clean?

You're going to love them, plus then they are always around, I've never even come close to the expiration date.

Wife's grocery shopping tomorrow, I'm gonna make a hashed browned potato pocket panini sandwiched brekkie "brick" this weekend. I usually spray Pan on the surface, less fat, but on the brekkie brick I'm going butter, because the healthy ship has already sailed on that recipe.

I used the bacon fat from the bacon cooked to be inside of the inside of the brekkie brick and coat the outside of the brick with it by putting a little layer of bacon fat on the inside of the bottom part of the waffler and then on top the outside of the top of the top layer of hashed browns before smashing the waffler down onto the topside of the top of the yet to be cooked brekkie brick.

Nope, my panini press and waffle iron both have removable cooking surfaces, cleanup is < a minute.

Our old Iron did not have removable plates and cleanup was a *****, but we used it so rarely I didn't care. Now that it is being used so much, we bought a new one, pop out the plates and throw them in the dishwasher, same with the panini press.

You are a bad influence.

Reversible? Waffle on one side, flat griddle on other?

Maybe he is just pulling our chain about a waffler sitting NEXT to a panini press and he actually has a waffler with a panini griddle that transforms to a panini press when not waffling?

He has a waffle machine INSIDE of a panini press 50% of the time he uses it.

Lol

My mom had an old one that was reversible. Used to make squished grilled cheese with burnt cheese edges. Aesome.

I did, TWICE

they were best waffles I've ever had tbh.

literally made a meringue of the egg whites and FOLDED THEM into the batter, just like the Belgians used to do.

I don't know about that model, but my Cuisinart panini press has two sets of plates, a grill and a flat, it also opens up so the top lies flat and you have two griddles. I bought mine at Costco 15 years ago for $60, I guess this is a video for a newer model and the plates are reversible, I have no idea if that's an improvement or a cost reduction for Cuisinart.

This video looks like it was made on VHS so maybe that's an older model.

Yeah, the one we had might have been different plates, or reversible. Memory hole. But one was waffle and the other was flat griddle. And it would also open up to be two open griddles.

Unless it is one you can flip while making, the waffles are shitty.

And that's fine. Waffles and Pancakes aren't good anyways. Give me a plate of eggs, bacon, hashbrowns over that stuff any day.

Agreed. Not a fan of the sweet breakfasts.

And I would have gotten away with it too, if it wasn't for you pesky fucktards!
