In my red gravy, I use drippings from my meatballs in my sauce. Hence, the red gravy.

EXACTLY.

The meatloaf topping I used had pan drippings from rendered bacon and sausage as the base. I added ketchup and pureed roasted red pepper with some seasonings and then glazed the top of the loaf with that.

Ordered (online) a shrimp burrito bowl from Pancho Villa, whole black beans, sautéed peppers and onions, lettuce, and both mild and spicy salsa. Brought the bag back to my office to eat, and discovered they screwed up the bowl and instead gave a me a traditional tortilla-stuff.

Not to worry, I peeled that tortilla off and am saving it for my hen flock, those birds love Mexican food. Interestingly, their favorite food is mac & cheese, guess I've got white-trash chickens.

Curious if you have kids. The reason I ask is that mac & cheese is a pretty universal food for all kids no matter where they come from.

We had quite a few, mostly differing breeds, we are down to our last 2 Rhode Island Reds, surprisingly all the others have met natural deaths. I built their pen like one of those Iranian nuke silos, would take a bunker-busting payload to breach those walls.

Yeah, three kids. And yes, it's their mac & cheese - i never liked it even when i was a kid and my moms would cook us a proper plate of pasta with sauce/gravy a couple times weekly.

And to answer the obvious question: we treat the chickens as pets rather than farm animals, so they received a proper Christian burial in our pet cemetery rather than winding up in Mrs. CRATTT's soup pot.

HaHa, my mom would make it with Velveeta, LOL I couldn't stand it but she still made it regularly. My parents made us sit and eat everything before we could leave the table.

No culling here, they were all healthy (for a time) and we treated them as pets, so no selective head-chopping for us/them. If I was more manly, or a homesteader or living in the country I would probably do the deed under those circumstances.
