The wife is stopping at Jewel after work. Do you know if they sell it there?

Unlikely and if they do I wouldn't get it there. I should warn you that kimchi is definitely not for everyone. Your best bet is a korean or japanese grocery store. Many of them will actually make it fresh there. Fresh kimchi is good to eat as is. I like the sour kimchi too, which is fermented. Depending how long it has been fermented for will greatly change the flavor. If it's only fermented for a few days it's probably still awesome to eat. If it's been weeks then you probably want to use in a stew.

Also? Urban Outfitters has a tres adorable in-house clothing line called Kimchi & Blue which is only available at their stores. Just thought I'd throw that out there for those who like to keep their finger on the style pulse. . .for those of you who don't, well then sod off.

Thanks phranchk. I don't think I've ever seen a Korean or Japanese grocery store around here.

Vancouver is made of kimchi, Ok, not really, but it's everywhere.

Also, that Urban Outfitters line is really cute. The UO sale section is one of my go-to places for a dress fix. Look at all these excellent options:

Too bad it's never going to be summer and I'll never get to wear any cute sundresses. Sad face.

First of all, cute things are ALWAYS care-able!

Secondly, look asshole---it's not MY problem that until a few days ago your ass was a kimchi virgin. Welcome to the fucking global 21st century---it's nice to have you aboard with the rest of us who have been eating Korean food for years. Enjoy the Pacific Century.

Who said it was a few days ago? I said recently. By the time I get to your current age I will have been eating Kimchi for years so suck it.

We actually made it ourself for the first time a few days ago.

This has oddly turned into a food and insult thread. It's the awesomest thread.

Those are excellent options! I like #3 the most then #1. More importantly I like the price of #1. None of these dresses would ever work on me in a million years but for a fresh dress lover and wearer like yourself they would be adorbs. My advice is to get them IN SPITE of the fucking weather in VAN! Just to spite that ***** Mother Nature and fashionably laugh in her face. We have thankfully moved on to 80s-90s weather here the past few days---I am thinking we might finally be over the hump and into summer. I had to bust out sandals so I had no choice but to finally paint the toes. Time to concentrate on deck life.

I went with a dark gray that I picked up at the Ulta on State last week. My only litmus test was once painted and looking down is it quite clear that I am wearing gray and not a funky-looking black. I decided to hold off on the couple of grays I had already bought---but I did try all of them on my pinky to see what they'd look like and the very pale light gray shade I got called "Wet Cement" I fancied a lot too and think I will switch to it in a month or so.

Also, I don't care for all the disparaging talk about Pinoy cuisine. Y'all mo-fos are crazy! It's an awesome combination of asian flavors and Spanish influences. Pancit? Delicious. WhoTF could have a problem with all the various pancit dishes? Adobo? Delicious. Lumpia? Delicious. All the bbq and skewering? Delicious. Shit, I feel like I need to make a visit to Merla's ASAP now just thinking about it.

Wait. Hold up. I thought this was a one-sided deal where you decided to be civil with me and where I just continue on being me! No? You're saying this civility shit is a two-way street?

OMG! Dude, DO NOT get me started on that new DSW on State. I decided to go in there one night a couple of weeks ago to scope it out. Figured I'd let their grand opening newness settle in a bit. LAME. Entire first floor of sandals which should never in theory be a problem except that every single goddamn pair is a variation on the same fucking theme. Downstairs was marginally better but I really wasn't digging most of the brands. I have friends who love shoe whoring with DSW but honestly they've never really been my cup of tea. I think in the decade+ that the big one over near Clark and Belmont has been open I have probably only gotten two pairs of shoes. Also, those prices for those brands over on State are NO deal IMO. One would be better off heading a bit north up on State and putting in the effort to go through the aisles at The Rack! Now at The Rack one can find some SWEETASS fucking QUALITY footwear. Also, cool socks. Lately I have become obsessed with stopping in there and buying up "Happy Socks" even though we are beyond socks weather---they're gonna be awesome in the fall.
