do you know of a restaurant that sells Kobe beef?

Most of the top steakhouses in chicago are now doing grass-fed. I see Kobe at some fine dining here and there, mostly in burgers...

If it's Japanese, wouldn't you rather have Kobe?

I've never had Kobe. I've heard it's good, but I've never tried it. I should put it on my bucket list.

dweebs knows a good steak. What restaurant dweebs?

Father in law took us to this restaurant when we were in Japan called Ninja Aka-something(the second name escapes me) and it was wonderful. Probably the best steak I've ever had. I don't go out to many steakhouses here in the states....I don't go out to eat that much in general. The last time I had steak out at a restaurant was at Morimoto's and they had an Australian Wagyu, which was pretty good.

“Wagyu” refers to any cattle that is bred in Japan or the Japanese-style. Kobe beef is comprised of a very particular strain of Wagyu called Tajima-Gyu that is raised to strict standards in the prefecture of Hyogo. (Hyogo's capital city is Kobe, thus the name

literally just intenetted wagyu vs. kobe

Kobe beef is the pet rock of the steak game.

So is Wagyu in general. Fun fact 'wagyu' simply translates to "japanese cow" and is a generic term. Kobe (the good stuff) wasn't even imported into the US before 2012 due to Mad Cow Disease in Japan, heck, according to the Kobe Beef Marketing & Distribution Promotion Association, only 9 restaurants in the entire United States offers real Kobe beef.
And since the good 'ol USofA only honors foreign trademarks when it feels like it (almost never) any cow with a single Japanese ancestor can legally be called Wagyu in the US.

I've never tried the Kobe, always thought it was too pricey when less expensive options are available and are very satisfying.
