Trade him to the O's for Brian Roberts makes the most sense. It'd be funny if we actually got Roberts for him....

actually thats not a terrible trade idea

problem is even with robert's injury issues(or whatever the hell was wrong with him..something about a concussion)..i dont know if soriano is valuable enough for a straight up trade

soriano would be the LF for the orioles...right? doubt he'll be a DH when they have guerrero in that spot

He would be the DH... with some playing time in the OF.

Do they even have VLAD? I don't see that.

It's a Phil Rogers rumor, there's about a 95% chance that he's wrong

Oh...well since his contract goes through 2014, we could get him at the deadline that year should we be contending by then, but I'm thinking WAY too far in advance

My favorite teams
  1. Chicago White Sox
  2. Chicago Cubs
  1. Chicago Fire
  1. Chicago Bulls

  1. Chicago Blackhawks
  1. Chicago State Cougars
  2. DePaul Blue Demons
  3. Illinois-Chicago Flames
  4. Loyola Ramblers

Ummm... give him severe amnesia so he won't remember that we owe him money and he'll aimlessly search for home. :D

Roberts is likely still not playing anywhere near 100% because of the concussion. He's going to suck. But he has upside and costs half of what Soriano costs. Therefore Roberts > Soriano.

Keep him and play him until some team is willing to to trade for him and 50% of his contract.
This.

And it seems like an unlikely scenario so let's just keep him. Paying 90% of Z's contract to play somewhere else for one season is one thing but no way for 3 years.

How does it make sense to keep Soriano when he isn't even one of our top 5 OFers? Byrd, DeJesus, Jackson, Johnson, and Sappellt are all better than Soriano. Soriano sucks, as much as I hate to say it because he is one of my favorite players of all-time. He needs to go in the worst way possible.

as brett mentioned, you meant defensively right?

soriano is probably our most productive offensive player right now...that or castro

werent you saying that soriano's defense was pretty good last year?

You mean defensively. Offensively he's the Cubs best of, maybe even on the entire team

No. I mean as a player. He sucks. He can only hit. That's all he can do and he doesn't do it well enough to have value.
