Same reason people are picking pocket passers in the draft to put behind this line. They're Bears fans, they have no clue about offense.

Apparently If your QB passes for 4,000 yards he is a franchise QB but if he passes for 3100 + runs for 900 he is terrible and should be replaced??

There are so many that want to move on from Fields based on stats, I'd like to know why the yards gained rushing are constantly disregarded, and how many yards passing equates to "franchise" QB?

2023 Fields was projected to pass for 3,350 yds and rush for 860 yds which is 4,210 total yards over 17 games, 26 TDs (combined) & 12 INTs.

I believe a healthy Fields can be a 5K total yard QB with added weapons and new play caller, so what's with all the bias??
It's a passing league, the Bears had the 2nd best rushing attack this year.. yet we where bottom 3rd in total production.

Your better off with a 4000+ yard passer and let the RB get the rushing yards.

Having a true dual threat QB is great, but that's not fields, fields is a marginal passer so his only real threat is his running, and again having a marginal passer gets you bottom 3rd in production and dead last in the division.

Line won’t look the same next season unless you’re saying whitehair and Patrick will be back and starting next year

If your QB has played 3 years and there is still a debate about whether he can be your franchise QB, then you already have your likely answer.

Fields is tough, humble, hard-working and well-liked and respected. He’s a leader. That doesn’t make him an elite franchise quarterback.

He has major issues scanning and processing the field. He either can’t or won’t pull the trigger on countless throws when guys break open.

He has a lot of rushing yards, and a lot of those yards came after bailing out of the pocket after he passed up on 1 or 2 open throws and scrambled instead. Those are just facts.

I don’t know if it will click for him. I hope it does because I’m a big fan of his. But Caleb is a far better and more polished prospect then he was.

I don’t think this will be a hard decision for Poles.

You don't know a fucking thing about how Williams will do in the NFL. And that is a fucking fact.

He could be the next Mahomes or he could be the next prima donna waste like Ryan Leaf. None of us know. How about this.....I will go out on a limb and predict Fields will have a better NFL career in the long run.

Lol, no one here has said that about Williams, and you’re the one in this thread who brought him up.

You literally said no other QB in the NFL could get half the wins Fields has in the last 3 years, which is insanely laughable. You can’t truly believe that.

That isn't what I said. Reading comprehension an issue?

So you say nobody knows a thing about Williams but then go on to say that Fields will have a better career than him. To that I say based on what?

I love JF the person and they way he embraced Chicago and the way he handled the media and the team guy he was and his athletic abilities and the way he always gave his all every time he played, but even though nobody knows if this will end up true, i just don't see how you pass on a kid in CW who many think will be a generational talent at QB in the NFL. We have to take that shot on him and hopefully put the right talent on the field around him and the right coaches and the team takes off.

I'll root for JF wherever he goes unless he's playing the Bears and will hope he becomes the guy many of us thought he was going to be for us.
