Do you want him gone? If that is indeed the problem im ok with that as well. We arent in the locker room so who knows, Q may be the problem.

Im just waiting for the "oh but but he won us the cup and stuff" bullshit.

Now that Carlyle is no longer available, I'd have to have a think on it.

Only way Q goes is if he takes his pal Kitch with him.

Someone brought up a point the other day. Sometimes the players just need to play good hockey and work it out themselves. Coaches can't do everything.

I'm not saying I agree, but just putting that out there.

I actually can not imagine seeing this group of guys playing for Carlyle.

That's a neutral statement, though I will add that I like Carlyle. I literally can't picture how these players would react.

That's a true statement, -the only way Quenneville gets dumped (at this point) is if upper management decides that the team has quit on him -as you can't fire the entire team. "Upper Management" might be Bowman, but might equally be McD - and if there is a higher profile coach available - then I can see McD moving as he's all about the marekting.

Incidentally, assuming Joe is right about Homers (and he might be)- I don't know if it iwas in this thread- but McD is all about creating that dynamic ... it is something you have to accept with any project that guy works on. He ought to really be the president of an indoor soccer league... but nevermind that.

___

Back to Quenneville; I don't know who you replace him with... the Hawks are a team run by guys that go for the guy with the bigger profile; at least at this point. Who's out there that they can go for? (Seriously I don't know --- it isn't meant to sound like a challenge).

Hawks have no shots on 8 straight 'power plays'.

Give Mike Kitchen an extension! :buttrock:

Yes, the power play sucks and Kitchen is to blame for that. Got it. Next week you can change "Serious" to "Obvious"

This team not being able to get past a goalie my age indicates all sorts of red flags. It appears they are still trying to "figure it out".

Ah, a bit late for that.

Ah, a bit late for that.

If you're referring to last night's game, which featured one of the NHL's best goalies of all-time, I think you're a bit off.

Martin Brodeur, even in his upper 30s, is still capable of stealing a game by standing on his head, just like he did last night. They certainly had chances, Brodeur just bested them.

Here's your problem in a nutshell

Pay attention to use of 1st person voice in this article.

John McDonough: Chicago Blackhawks president strongly backs coach, team - chicagotribune.com

Who is saying he never considered what?! .... and understand that this guy is in marketing, not hockey - irregardless of job responsibilities --- the point being the team is run by marketers, and not hockey minds ... but boy, I bet you get bobble-heads with the best molded hair -image is everything ... and in the words of the old Billy Crystal character.... "It is better to look good, than to feel good.... and dahlink, you look mahvelous..." (Or hockey? Whats that?... Nevermind, don't bother me with the details... -- Stan, can you set up a fashion shoot on Lake Shore Drive ... we need more exposure.).

The Stanley Cup was a fluke (under the above circumstances)....

And now Comcast is running a special interview with McD where they're advertising him as the man who turned the Blackhawks franchise around and into a Stanley Cup winner.

It's sickening

And to hear him say he has great confidence in Q . Sure. So THAT's why you brought in his replacement and stuck him on the ice during practices- to the dismay of Q himself (according to Doug MacLean).

Dale Tallon turned this team around on the ice.

McD has done a good job with the team's publicity, but that's about it. And the thought that he's involved with any hockey decisions as opposed to PR ones is not pleasant .... but it's not the first time this has been suggested.

A team with so called 'elite' talent shouldn't be near the bottom on the PP.

This shit doesn't get fixed, it'll be a quick exit.
