The Blackhawks won the Cup because of incredible team defense. Niemi usually didn't have to make too many big saves because of the work of the guys in front of him.

Now I'm on the ledge b/c this team isn't good enough. On paper, I thought they were built to score...wtf. Inconsistent D, goalie play etc., the team certainly does not look ready for a playoff run...or at least a decent one.

At some point you have to look at coaching, particularly when the problems are not being resolved this late in a season. I heard Roenick's excuse a couple weeks ago 4/the Hawks, said they were bored.

To that I would reply, if you don't like playing GTFO off the ice. That's one thing Chicago fans will not tolerate, lack of effort.

Better question is, when do we start looking upstairs?

I'd like a GM that has a pair & a clue.

Well they did last year...

You know, after they lost 3 straight and were faced with elimination.

While I agree in principle, I think that the bandwagon yuppies might not know that they missed the playoffs until sometime in August -- which is about how much attention I think that that particular demographic pays to hockey.... the UC is more the place to be seen, as opposed to knowing what actually happens there.

It should be noted here that Barry Smith, one of Scotty Bowman's assistant coaches in Pittsburgh and Detroit and who is currently head of the Hawks's player development, did accompany the team during the last leg of the trash road trip and was on ice to assist in drills.

I feel a change a comin this offseason unless this team is able to "flip the switch" in the playoffs.

I'd have to think Q goes with him.

Do you want him gone? If that is indeed the problem im ok with that as well. We arent in the locker room so who knows, Q may be the problem.

Im just waiting for the "oh but but he won us the cup and stuff" bullshit.
