Most dislike as a social norm? Growing grass on your property. Out of millions of plants, most grow something pretty useless by comparison, then instead of applying the main natural usage for it, we just cut it, some bag it, dump it places. Never really question why or change it.

Thls is so true. I spend a copious amount of time and money making my yard look nice. Granted, when I first bought my house, it was all brand new sod so it was a ***** to deal with at first. Getting easier now that it is established. If I could put in something else that was less maintenance and didn't look like shit, I'd be all for it.

I'm Canadian. I tip the guy at the gas station, and would tip the cashiers at Safeway, if they weren't union and it wouldn't cost them their job. Social norms for me are pretty much my social life.

Hey Canadian, what do you think of Guess Who?

Depending on the size of the yard, I've seen people with a nice gravel/rock set up for their yard.

Synthetic grass is the craze out west now. But a worse idea than grass, imo. I sometimes do a bit of landscape design in my work, and grass is definitely not something I use very much, and certainly is not needed to have a great looking yard.

We just bought a townhouse with antiny plot of grass and i was like oh **** and bought a weedeater. Come to find out the association pays for the grass ‘mowing’. I had to mow 18 acres every 2 weeks as a kid so i chalk it up to ptsd

Enjoy the association fees.

Watching my kid with her friends, cousins, and our dogs playing in the back yard on a nice lawn, some of my favorite memories.

Yeah, guess it makes me a socialist. I'm guessing you live on a libertarian compound with Burton Cummings, who is an admitted democratic socialist.

I never said that but you can think what you want. Butch is a dumbfuck social libtard but didn't affect me appreciating his talent.

Hey, I covered ‘no sugar tonight’. It’s a rocker. He just grew out of his fascistic tendencies

I am all the way on board with this.

I have re-wilded my front and back yard. All native plants and ground cover. My bird list for the yard has 123 species.

Enjoy this early fascist song promoting guns and fascism.
