For me this is Dayan's last year. He needs to produce at a slightly above average level this year

That is fair. I'd say the goals for the guy should be something like:

.275 BA .320 OBP 25 HRs 85 RBIs .500 Slg

In addition, Viciedo, I think played a very good outfield last year. He has a gun for an arm. Perhaps the expectations were set too far for the guy as they were for Rameriz in my view.

Just don't think the Sox can have both on the roster come opening day.

One needs to be dealt, but at fair value.

I'd trade Dunn for a bucket of cold spit before I'd put the guy in the outfield. He's a circus clown in the outfield. I wouldn't mind keeping De Asa as a 4th outfielder, pinch runner, pinch hitter and DH on occasion. But you cannot compare the upside of the two. De Asa has reached his peak. I do not believe that Viciedo has.

Dunn playing the field might bring back some of that missing OPS since he got here. We've had butchers in LF before (See Viciedo) so we can deal if the bat comes around and Konerko is healthy

Heard briefly a recap of an interview yesterday with Ventura. He was talking about Davidson and how he's improving defensively since ST started. Robin also commented on how he sees what the Sox Scouts saw in him. I'd almost want Davidson to start with the big club getting tutuored by one of the most underrated and misused lineup wise players I have ever seen play at 3B.

Viciedo is hardly a butcher in left field. He actually is better than De Asa in the field especially in throwing runners out. One of the big improvements that I see for this team in the coming year is the replacement of De Asa in center field with Eaton. I actually like De Asa as an offensive player but I also do not think that he is the brightest bulb in the string with his stupid ass base running. Wish someone could straighten that out.

No,. He's a butcher. Great, he throws better than De Aza. I wish he could get to a ball correctly or quickly. That's the butcher part.

He is not a butcher. He improved greatly on his defense in the outfield. Don't forget when they brought him in he was a 3rd baseman and then they played him at first for awhile. DeAza is more of a butcher. He takes terrible routes to a batted ball. He gets lost on the ball in the air. He does have recovery speed but he has puss for an arm.

Reading a ball off of the bat in the outfield is tough for a guy who has played infield. It is totally foreign to a lot of guys.

All of what you say is true. But tank makes De Aza look like a GG
