Since it's the most VALUABLE player, and not (the best player in the league) award. What is most valuable to the team, stats or wins?

Wins are.

My problem with ESPN is that they act like the Heat are in first place when they are actually 2 back. But don't tell that to them though. Yesterday Jay Crawford spoke of the Knicks saying they are in the 8th spot right now and if the season ended [yesterday], then the Knicks would face the Heat in the first round.

He didn't check the standings and no one corrected him on it. They made it seem like the Bulls weren't in first place. They act like they don't exist since they have already decided that they don't have a chance of even beating the Knicks, let alone the Heat.

It's the spreading of misinformation that bothers me more than anything. It's like CNN/MSNBC.

Fixed.

He is.

I don't deny that. But his short-comings late in games should impact him in the MVP race, especially when you got guys like Derrick Rose leading a team with the better record and making clutch shots to win games instead of passing off. Guys like you make it hard to like lebron, because you're constantly telling everyone how good he is while at the same time not criticizing his game. But then go and criticize everyone else.

Numbers wise, lebron is having a great season, but the game is more than raw numbers. It's also about the big moments and who steps up in them and who shrinks. lebron has shrunk in these moments more so than any other star player.

lebron shouldn't be the runaway MVP, just based on his stat padding.

You are being a hypocrite. Kind of like you calling Rondo a scrub, arguing with me when I disagreed...and here you are putting Rondo in the top 5 at the deepest position in the league. You put Lebron's name in the hat for MVP...YOU DID! I didn't prompt you, at the time, I said nothing but asked a question.

What I wish you would do is give your opinion, not so much worry about tracking whatever patterns or trends develop in my posts. I have been critical of both Rose and Lebron when it was called for.

Some people on ESPN back the Bulls' POV. Mainly Jon Barry right now. Wilbon can but he goes to lengths sometimes not to be seen as a homer. Skip Bayless makes his living as a contrarian to do his debate thing. He's not to be taken very seriously at all.

Skip Bayless is basically kept around by ESPN for ratings. No more, no less. If they are keeping him around because they think his opinions make sense, then ESPN may be dumber than I thought.

Why wouldn't I put his name in the hat? He's in the race. I call Rondo a scrub because I hate him. But he's is still one of the top PG's whether I hate him or not.

I think you're under the impression that I'm arguing with you or something.

Skip Bayless overvalues offense in the NBA and undervalues defense or else he would understand why Scottie Pippen has been a top 50 player for a long, long time now. He doesn't think James and Howard are top 5 players in the league right now.

He makes some respectable points about LeBron fading away when the pressure comes but it is ridiculous that he never has ANYTHING decent to say about him other than the occasional back-handed compliment about his ceiling as a player because of his athletic prowess.

I love how he says Rose isn't a passer or a play maker or how he feels the weight of the city on his shoulders. Like he has to do it by himself. but that's bullshit.

He says that Rose is too ball-dominant but what he doesn't realize is that it is not Rose's fault. His 2nd and 3rd options are Deng (bad handling skills) and Boozer (mainly a contested jump-shooter). If Rose passed the ball more in the ECF last year, the Bulls probably would have lost by even more each game.

Seriously, who was he going to pass to? Injured and hobbled Boozer or Noah? Bogans? It was all on him last year. This year, everyone has stepped up and injuries haven't hurt them too bad.

Rip needs to get on the court and stay there or get gone.

To be honest I don't know who I like as the Most Valuable Player. This time last year I pretty much said Rose all the way up to the end of the season. I don't know why everybody says that LeBron James is the leading candidate for MVP when he has 2 other All-Stars on his team.

It's called the Most Valuable Player award for a reason. It ISN'T an award for the absolute best player in the league. If the Magic had anyways a decent record I would probably give it to Howard, but alas they don't. If I had to pick one I would probably pick Durant, especially if they finish with the best record in the league.
