I would’ve liked Nolen and green. I think both have the opportunity to be special players.
10 is too high for most of those guys, unless the Bears team in question is just really big on them. And I’m not drafting a guard at 10 unless he’s for sure a game changer.I looked at your list Toast 88, and you had six first round offensive lineman on your board. Will Campbell and Kelvin Banks were both drafted. So you would have selected one of the following four instead of Loveland. Wyatt Wilum, Aireontae Ersery, Tyler Booker or Cam Williams. Am I correct?
Nolan was my pick after the board fell the way it did.I would’ve liked Nolen and green. I think both have the opportunity to be special players.
You can hate the Bears management and the Bears in general and still appreciate they made good moves on the oline this offseason. You don't have to be rah rah to say that Thuney, Jackson, and Dalman were upgrades.
I'm not saying they're going to be bad. I'm just not falling for or repeating the FA hype for the oline like I did last year.
I would say they made needed FA moves on oline in the off season, and most of the needed oline moves in the draft.
The draft part isn't the end of the world but like FA there's nothing to get me hyped. And that's with me saying we now have 1st and 2nd round OTs who are swing tackles which sure isn't a bad thing.
Williams coming out last year with the same oline problems as Fields sucked my will to be a blind fan dry. I need to see something worthy of being a fan about.
Stromberg, Wright and Trapilo could easily be the foundational long term young talent we need to elevate any old G playing between them.
I just need to see it.
Same.Nolan was my pick after the board fell the way it did.
Every draft pick comes with risk, but I felt he was the best TE in the draft for the Bears. Kmet is more like Warren. I used to be a “TEs are not core players” until I saw the impact of Kittle, Kelce, Bowers, LaPorte, Gronk, etc. I thought he was the best value on the board at 10. I would have loved a top LT, but I did not think there was a great LT candidate in this entire draft.@LIBlue, is there ANY legitimate reason for anyone not to be psyched about Loveland at 10?
Sure, but speaking of Loveland specifically, is there ANY legitimate reason not to be psyched about the pick?Every draft pick comes with risk, but I felt he was the best TE in the draft for the Bears. How the **** would we know if anybody is right or wrong before any of these guys have played a single fucking snap in the league? LmfaoPlease provide details on what you would have preferred. That way we’ll know for sure whether you’re right or wrong.
So anyone who doesn’t love the pick is an idiot, right?I am psyched. Even with no QB this year, he put up numbers. Good speed, good hands, great at high pointing the ball, could use a bit of work on route running, but most do coming out of college. A great fit with the new offense.
Allot of factors come into trade down. Maybe packages were meh. Maybe the teams offering were picking in 20s and bears weren’t interested in missing who they were targeting waiting that long.So people weren’t scrambling for Loveland at 10?
Sorry, just trying to figure out why it’s not ok to not love an injured backup slot receiver at 10?
You’re extremely fixated on this trade down stuff. Again, I never said trade down or GTFO. I don’t like picking an injured backup guy at 10 when there are other glaring needs. It’s as simple as that.
Agree 100 percent. These are the guys BJ wanted. We gave him the bag so he’s going to have his say. It’ll work or it won’t.
I get that this is a message board and we all have our opinions. I’m not saying to just shut up and let it play out. Voice your displeasure all you want. That’s why message boards like this exist. But they have a plan. It may not be what you wanted. This is what we paid him for though. We kind of have to let him buy the groceries. He’s preparing the meal. We’ll see how it plays out. That’s how I see it. If it doesn’t work then he’ll eventually be gone. If it does, then great.
Don’t hate the player at all. Like I said, he’s appears to be the kind of guy who gives you versatility and is good at everything.Allot of factors come into trade down. Maybe packages were meh. And I get hating the pick but I think you’re wrong hating the player
Yeah I wish they went in a different direction but it is what it is. Loveland is no bowers but I think he will be a fan favorite quick. Feisty player can run routes and get separation. And I trust bj won’t ghost him like past tard ocs have done with our tes. But fundamentally you build the trenches to win. We will see how it all plays outDon’t hate the player at all. Like I said, he’s appears to be the kind of guy who gives you versatility and is good at everything.
He’s not explosive, though, and he’s not great at anything. That limits his ceiling.
To me, I’m looking for something different from the 10th overall pick.
Others may disagree, and that’s totally cool. But scroll through this thread. You don’t see a lot of people making a case for Loveland. You see a lot of people pissed off that a fan would dare question the moves of a historically losing franchise.
Did you ever answer this question? Or continue to dance around the very direct question askedPick an o-line or d-line guy who was taken in the first after Loveland. Almost all those guys will have a better NFL career. Very predictable
